Shakes are hand dipped real ice cream. I used to go once or twice a week but the closest one is 30+ miles away now, so when I'm in Seattle, I try to eat there. Now I'm totally craving a Deluxe...

Two of my Seattle area favs:

I like Baja Fresh better for variety. Chipotle does have good ingredients though. In my opinion their burritos are always way to big. I like the crunchy tacos there the best, but it seems like nobody else does.

I have a soft spot for Whataburger's sausage BOB's (Breakfast on a bun), as well as their sausage taquitos with cheese. Discovered them almost accidentally. I never added the picante sauce, it destroyed the flavor as it comes in them which I think is just great. Too bad they are only served on breakfast time (11:00pm to 11:00am). Some times at night I waited more than an hour eagerly just to have one of those for dinner.

I was waiting for someone to say Chipotle. It's actually owned by McDonalds. Chicken Fajita Burrito. Mmmmm. Best sour cream around, too.

Wahoo's Fish Taco kills Rubio's and Baja Fresh IMO. I love Wahoo's mixture of Mexican, Baja, and Hawaiian styles. Ahi Rice. Mmmmm. I could seriously eat plates of it without an entree.

It's tough that's for sure. In 'n' Out is so unique though because their burgers really taste like nothing else. I mean, the patties are paper thin, but nobody cares because they taste that good. I've had friends from high school that went away for college and made monthly treks to find an In 'n' Out because they craved it so bad. I know someone from the DC area who travels out here for business and as soon as he steps off the plane he goes to the In 'n' Out by the airport. Insanity.

But for purely health reasons I'd probably go with Chik-Fil-A. As I've gotten older I've grown to appreciate poultry and fish over all types of red meat.

I guess fast food is like audio, we have different ears and tastebuds. I don't like Baja Fresh. The one near us closed. I don't think you can get food as fresh as you get at Chipotle.

The only thing I go for at McD's is the $1 double-cheeseburger. It's just cheap

Btw, add a vote for Quiznos...the less healthy but more delicious Subway

Ah Quiznos has some very good sandwiches, I liked the Phili. Speaking of sandwiches and subs, Firehouse had a great meatball sandwich.

I'd kill just to have a Rubio's on the East Coast. Now add Wahoo's to that list.

Oh, another great place, but not a chain, is Amsterdam Falafel in DC. Really tasty food, and a great snack late at night.

Meh, just about everything is like that. Subjective and opinionated.

By the way, I love your avatar!

IN-N-OUT

It's sort of a blessing in disguise that I don't live in California, or else I'd eat unhealthy In-N-Out burgers all the time

I've always loved a good, fat, burrito and find myself going to Chipotle a lot here in NYC. But, I gotta be honest, it's a reflection of how sad the burrito scene is here in NY. Chipotle is edible, but it's just the bland of bland. What's up with that white rice??

Maybe I just haven't found the right place yet. But so far, I'm stunned that Chipotle has the reputation it does. In I mean, even Boston had better burritos - Anna's Taqueria or Boca Grande (on a good day - they're terribly inconsistent) blow Chipotle away as the corporate mediocrity it is.

Still, I do prefer Chipotle over Baja Fresh or Rubio's burritos (though I love Rubio's nachos for some reason).

Anyway, fast food-wise, Jack in the Box is definitely a guilty pleasure. Chicken strips, the burgers, and yes, the tacos - all junky and terrible for you, but definitely tasty (in a bad way). I dun understand the In-N-Out love. Been there quite a few times but just found it bland.

I'd also like to nominate Popeye's chicken. Those mashed potatoes - yum!

Best regards,

-Jason
