How's the E17 working these days with you and your Archos tablet?
The Archos G9 tablet is not mine.

I was sort of considering an Android device as a possible laptop replacement at some point later down the road also, but lack of foobar, possibly no ability to pair with my incoming E17 and/or no ridiculous iPad 3 display (rumored though it is at this point) has made me reconsider.
Thanks again for covering the push to get USB DACs supported via Android. I went and voted for that using the link you provided.
I’m pretty sure that a USB DAC will be a standard USB device able to connect to an Android smartphone/tablet like a USB mass storage device, a USB keyboard or a USB mouse, because the capability is there (i.e. Android kernel = Linux kernel).
But when?
More and more Android modders are working to enable USB audio on well-known Android smartphones:
. Google Galaxy Nexus:
“@Franco
Thoughts on adding USB audio support for use with a DAC? There are MANY people who would be eternally grateful.“
"Yes I’m waiting for a DAC and a headphone that FiiO is kindly sending me to try that."

. Samsung Galaxy S2:

Experimental: USB Audio support for DAC devices

As far as I know, there are currently at least four Android tablets with the feature USB audio enabled:
. B&N Nook Colour with a modded Android kernel

. WitsTech A81G with a slightly modded Android kernel

. Ainol Novo 7 Advanced Allwinner with a modded Android kernel

. Archos G9 with an official Android kernel

The official USB audio request is currently ranked 25 of 17979.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24614&sort=-stars&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars
In fact, it is ranked in top 3 of less than one year old requests.
Thank you for your vote!
