I've read somewhere that we should be careful on buying the SE535 because apparently there were fake ones on the market. Does anybody know if that is true? How do we know we are buying original ones?

I don't believe there are any fakes out. Simply oversuspicious customers crying wolf. One suggestion though - if you buy brand new and want to be 100 % sure + to get warranty, then don't be cheapskate and forget hunting Ebay bargains. Those don't have warranties.  Buy from authorized dealers -  http://www.shure.com/ , choose your region and then where to buy.
