@JamesFiiO is there a plan to release a short balanced cable in the future?
Those of us with clip-on BT adapters with 2.5 mm TRRS outputs would gobble them up. I like the form of my old Jays cables with the inline 3.5 mm TRS connector combo. You could go short on the fly.

I’m planning to add a M/F set of 2.5 mm TRRS to a few of my FiiO LC-B cables, just south of the chin slider/divider.
[edit]: Does anyone have a recommendation for matched 2.5 mm TRRS connector pairs with similar shells? I haven’t seen any.

Already arranged. we will also have a Bluetooth receiver which supports balanced out but it will not come out in short time.

Is there a hope to have one like the LC-3.5BS but in 2.5 balanced? I just purchase my FH5 (and will wait for the FH7), but also looking for a good replacement cable, is there any deadline for the short 2.5mm cable?

For those that tried both FA7 and FH5, how do they compare in terms of fit and comfort? The FH5 to me was quite comfy due to the shallow insertion. Do you find the FA7 equally comfortable or more / less so?

It maybe not enough soft if we use the same cable as LC-3.5B.

I like the FA7 fit better. Retention is superior; unlike the FH5, I don’t have to fiddle with them every 20 min or so on the run, and they isolate better.

The FH5 are the most comfortable IEMs I’ve tried, with the FA7 and the old Jays d-Jays a close tie for second.

It really depends on how you feel about IEM comfort in general, and how active you are when wearing them. The FA7 have around average insertion depth, and the shells have an excellent ergonomic shape, which has a bit better clearance to features of the pinna.

I’m going to mod one soon, so I’ll report on that. I absolutely want to retain the chin slider, otherwise I would have already purchased the FiiO 3.5 mm short cord.

It would be beneficial to not have ear hooks, or make them thin enough that they don’t rub against my sunglass frames. It’s not an issue when I am sitting, but I hear the rubbing when I am running.

They have a couple of those: FiiO LC-2.5B, FiiO LC-2.5C. I personally would get the B-series, as it looks to be more sturdily constructed, and has a chin slider. It's a bit overpriced on Amazon, but you can get it for $36.99 shipped on Aliexpress:

Personally, I don't hear any difference with the FA7 between balanced and SE on my ES100, and SE driving voltage is likely not an issue for these on any headphone amp.

I have LC-2.5C from original FiiO Aliexpress store with FH5 and I am very happy. Didn't notice any significant sound change, but it looks great and has very good built quality!

I also have an F9, with Comply Ts-500 tips, and the following EQ settings:

I’m listening mostly to jazz, rock, classical. I’m not really into pop or electronic music, but I generally need a do-it-all setup.
Recently played: Haydn Nelson Mass (Pinnock), Modern Primitive (Steve Vai), Piercing the Veil (Parker & Drake).

The F9 is an absolute steal, once you’ve dialed in the tuning. The FH5 are more comfortable, more capable in the bass, and really sing on electric bass guitars.

FH5 EQ (L bass tips):

The FA7 seem to be in a different echelon than the other two, and could be characterized as a mildly w-tuned Etymotic ER4SR-type set, though with better low frequency capability.

Question is if EQ degrades the quality of the sound, some amps have direct mode not without the reason I guess and on some DAPs EQ is disabled in Audio Priority mode?

Just got my FA7s, fit and seal it's much better than FH5, because the shape, the FA7 go deeper on ears canals. I use medium vocal tips on 7s and they seal better than 5s with large tips. Much more secure and tight fit.

Can't comment on sound differences yet.

Give them some time and came to us with a mini comparison. I'm a happy owner of the fh5 and looking forward for the fh7, but this fa7 looks quite promising
