How would you stack the ex1000 along with ckm1000 and ie800? There is quite a bit of price difference but which has the best sound. I know the ex1000 uses a 99.9... 7n silver cable and is interchangable which is useful if I want to pair it with my fostex hpp1 as dac along with Sr71B with balance custom plug. Thus I like the fact that ex1000 comes with a good quality cable. I also like the fact that the driver is the largest which means technically better performance. However, lookwise it will stick out, but most important of all I'm looking for best noise isolation as I commute quite a bit. I love ckm1000's build as it feels nice but haven't got much time to listen to it before. The ie800 would be the most expensive so and I remember one of the downs for the ie800 was the highs, along with the fact you can't change cable. Oh and by the way I have very big and deep canals and I use the triple flange sleeves. It would be great if any of you could help me out!

If you like cables I saw you can buy one from Swan Audio in HK for the new Onkyo IEM which uses normal custom IEM sockets.
 
 
Try comparing CKM1000 to CK100PRO in a store if you can, as I've heard the latter is technically better in some ways.

Neither the EX1000 nor IE800 will offer you the kind of isolation you seem to be looking for.

Hi guys thanks for all your replies, I have ie7 sennheiser and I can handle the isolation ok, it has vents and I can just about handle it. It is alright in the train. How does the sonic performance of ex1000 fair against ie800?

ckm1000 on ebay sold for 150-190$ from china and japan, but other japanese seller sell it for 300-500$
do you know, others are fake? 150-200 is not too expensive for fakes?

I`ve heard that the ie800`s have pretty good isolation, sound wise they are definitely up there is you don`t mind the emphasized bass.

I think ciem is the best choice if you want a good isolation

I would keep in mind that a bigger driver doesn't mean better performance.

I have heard and enjoyed the ex-1000 and the ie800. The ie800 is technically better as it stands up to, and matches or beats the $1600 spiral ears se5 custom, which I have had a long-term loaner set, at least to my ears. No iem is perfect, and I'd say the need to wear the ie800 over-ear will make it difficult for taller users if they don't go wireless as james444 did.

The isolation of the ie800 is better than the ex-1000. I listen on commute and the ie800 is good, while the ex-1000 wasn't quite enough.

I have a much newer ie800 than previous reviewers and I haven't heard the treble issues. The treble sounds pretty great, generally, although the overall tuning has extra sub-bass which won't be for everyone, but it's great for commute and for me, generally.
