About three weeks ago i decided to buy my self a new pair of headphones for my Ipod 3G. After spending lots and lots of hours here on Head-Fi and other forums i finally decided to get the Etymotic HF2 head set.
And...from that moment my music listening changed. Everything you play sounds amazing! The details, the crisp sound, the bass (oh yea, it´s there all right), the mids etc.

The build qality is also great, ant the fact that the microphone works so fine makes these phones even greater. I´m totally blown away.

The downside is that all my other phones sounds bad and muffled.

So help me here, and share your thoughts about the hf2/hf5.

Love my HF5.. only thing I'm upset about is that one of the included foam tips got stuck in my ear, and if I use the tri-flanges, they get clogged up VERY fast with ear wax (my ears produce huge amounts, for some reason).

regarding that, I'm currently looking for suggestions for tips... etymotic claims they're sending me a set of the glider tips, since I didn't get them with my HF5, but it's been about 4 weeks since they said they were "dropping them in the mail"

These have grown on me over the past month. They are not quite ER4's in terms of sound and build quality, but I think they get more than 80% there. The blue flanges are my choice for a good balance between comfort, isolation and sound quality. My only concern with these is that there is not much to hang onto when removing them and I think there is more stress on the cable compared to the ER4's. So far, so good though. At $99.00 these were very well priced.

I bought them for something like $86 and for this price they are quite good. I use grey tripleflange, best sound and comfort, I also try them with Comply t100 and klipsch gels, but with these, sound is somehow muffled.

I use them as traveling IEM in public transport, but after I return my Phonaks(which I found better then hf5) I´m looking for something more comfortable and better than Etymotic.

I love the HF2 with the iPhone 3G. Compact swiss army knife rig with more than acceptable sq when out and about in public transport.

I got those earphones because I was getting sick of all my bass heavy IEMs. They sounded great, especially the mids. but after a while, I was getting bored of dry sound.
So great IEM, but not for my taste.
