I prefer the circumaural feel. I already have a Grado, so I'm not looking for more supraaural-ness from the ES-R10.

As someone who's owned these for a couple months now and no experience with the OG R10 but plenty with other flagships of yesteryear and today, I think there may be a disservice in comparing it to the OG. It might be inspired by the OG and a visual copy of it, but this headphone stands on it own merits. Well amped it's one of the best headphones for vocal driven rock, pop, soul, folk, country, and americana. The ES-R10 allows you to feel both male and female singers technical abilities and emotions because of its microdynamic skill paired with its venue-like timbre. There's not many headphones on the planet that can say the same.

If you want to nitpick, it's probably not really a headphone that I'd choose if I could only have one. As part of a collection, especially if you love vocalists across many genres, it's a must have.

There is limited stock left. Remember that Benson was saying it is limited by the stock of ear cups he has… Last I checked there are less than 20 left. And about 10 may be purchased by a US dealer.

Not that I am aware of. I am about to head up to CanJam, but I am leaving all of my cans at home. I will keep my eyes open in the unlikely event that one of the exhibitors has one out.

So that’s 10 more gone from ever depleting run. I will need to take a quick decision, also waiting on Caldera and Expanse impressions. Having said that I could always get them at a later date.

The ES R10 with the Quicksilver headphone amp is an excellent match. Gershwin, Rhapsody in Blue, Jon Nakamatsu, excellent match.

Cool. Pic is kinda preaching to the choir here as most of us already own a set. I think it's great Headamp took notice and bought a few. It could only help ES Lab, Headamp didn't need to do it. 10 is a low number, sounds like they wanted to have enough for Canjam. Get em quick!

I live in Arizona, and we are just coming out of the monsoons. I notice that due to the wood, the sound will change due to the humidity. As it gets drier here, the sound becomes more open sound, the cups taking on a different quality. It is all good, humid or not and in HK, it is humid most of the time.
