Shuguang Treasure KT88-Z. https://premiumvacuumtubes.com/psvane-kt88-tii-vs-shuguang-treasure-kt88-z-vs-original-mullard-kt88/

KT88 in Super Ultimate has elevated it to Odyssey's status. It's as if KT88 was biased for this amp. Opening drum beats of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac has the impact and intensity. With LCD5, turn up the volume loud to 12 noon and my skull is shaking. :)

The amp is just beautiful in low light photography.

With all the tubes that I have, the Super Ultimate is definitely the better choice. It's so much easier to change tubes and trust me, you will want to change tubes. This amp will drive you nuts with tube rolling.

It should have been called 'The Rolling Stones' but then we will get sued.

With 'Private Investigations' by Dire Straits at an obscene volume level, the LCD5 driven by the Junior Ultimate with ECC35 and TS 6550, is pounding my ears, brains, lungs, kidneys and all internal organs. I'm getting an internal massage. :)

I'm so surprised that LCD5 can sound so good. @gzbaga thanks for the use of your LCD5. Now do you have an Abyss 1266 TC? Ah you have the HE-500 original. Got to borrow that again.

Between the Super Ultimate with Hytron 7A4 and Shuguang KT88-Z and the Junior Ultimate with Mullard ECC35 and Tung Sol 6550, I can't decide which I like better.
Means you feel both driver variants as qualitatively equivalent, so result in the "Super UltimatE" by switching only different tunings. Can you detect permanent differences by changing the drivers, which are independent of the tube equipment, for example stage width, or suitability for classical music, or...

Is there already a driver input on the "Super UltimatE" which you would rather prefer?

Eric told me my Miflex kpcu-01 caps have arrived and they are huge ! See picture. In the picture are the 2 Miflex kpcu-01 and Mundorf Silver caps. The Mundorf Silver Gold is not here yet and it is bigger than the Mundorf Silver cap shown in the picture on the right.

I was watching youtube on caps and in particular Miflex. Watch at 6:24 of the video.

Not at this point. I was out most of the afternoon and only started listening again. It's going to take me a longer time to compare drivers and / or power tubes and also rectifier. Unfortunately I don't listen to classsical much. For that I have to ask my friend @xtiva who is a strictly classical fan. He listens to no other genre. :)

From the very brief drivers rolling in Super Ultimate of Mullard ECC35, Hytron 7A4 and RCA 6J5, my preference is still ECC35 but the 7A4 is nearly up there. The RCA 6J5 is ok but not quite up there.

Yes, the Milfex is a real piece of work, that's why I didn't want it.
They need a lot of space.
And you have to attach them well.
Especially if the amplifier is to be shipped, it could be critical.

My Ultimate is finally being processed at customs today, the excitement is mounting friends.
I hope I don't get any bad news in the tracking.
Today is hopefully a good day for it to be Monday,😁

There's lots of room in the Super Ultimate and I will hand carry it home with police escort. :)

Hope you get your Junior Wood Ultimate soon and that it arrives in the same condition that I tested it.

It seems that Bryant's Ultimate is logaritmic potentiometer. Need to turn the volume a lot more to get to the volume I desire.

On more extended listening, I prefer the Junior Ultimate with Mullard ECC35 and Tung Sol 6550 than the Hytron 7A4 and Shuguang KT88-Z.

ECC35 and TS 6550 is an outstanding combo. Texture, instruments separation and 3D holographic presentations. 2nd harmonic distortions at it's best. I need to switch the tubes over to the Super Ultimate to see how they perform.

That's great to hear... but hey, I was wondering if you'd have the 1266 for me to borrow! XD

Sure Matt, I'll be interested to hear your thoughts about the HE500 OG when you give them a longer listen.

Thanks Simon. I'm having a great time here. :) 3 Ultimates and some TOTL headphones. :)
