So I was right about the ECC35 and TS 6550 combo. It's now in the Super Ultimate and this is as good as it gets, short of using my GEC KT88 or the Miniwatt EL34 metal base.
ECC35 is still the star performer. It's my dream driver.

I'm using a Pulse socket saver with the ECC35.

Are Milflex caps expensive option?

Miflex kpcu-01 are a bit less than Mundorf Silver Gold Oil caps. About AUD$200 a pair. Mundorf is closer to AUD$300 a pair and Eric's suppliers are out of stock ! Even the transformers for the xlr balance input are out of stock ! Fortunately Eric lock away a pair for me. :)

Btw the Mundorf Silver Gold Oil caps 0.47 uf are out of stock. Eric is getting us the more expensive 0.68 uf.

Liked the El3N so much I just snagged another NOS pair for $90 aud!!!!

A long time ago, I came across this article of EL3N Single Ended Sakuma style. Meaning EL3N as drivers driving EL3N as power tubes. Not long after that, Glenn started making a similar amp. Then Zachi got the bigger version of 2 x EL3N drivers and 4 x EL3N power tubes.

I once approach Glenn to ask him to make me his 300b amp but he told why not the EL3N amp. He said it's quieter and sound just as good. This is his masterpiece and for a long time I wanted that amp but then I change to EL11 instead. That's how Odyssey was born and Tomas came into the picture.

Listening to Beth Gibbons - Portishead, very atmospheric described as musique noire for a movie not yet made!

Also won this Auction today.

Apparently Mullard Australia never made el84s. The mullard are from Blackburn plant, but stamped made in Australia.

If so I got myself a bargain😀

That is a good buy. EL84 has make a mark on me. To me it's a baby EL34 with just as much muscles and a bit of milk.

Originally yes. My understanding is that Eric wants to check my final order again before he actually starts building.

>>> CLICK

He does check with every client before he starts their order. There's one thing custom amp builders don't do. They have their choice of parts and clients don't tell them what to use. Otherwise the client might as well go and make it themselves. Sorry to put it bluntly.

Ultimate is as simple or as complicated as it can be. In it's simplest form, you have the Mini Ulitmate that use 12AT7 with 6Y6G and 6BW4 rectifier. In it's most complicated form is the Super Ultimate that use 2 x 6J5, 6SN7, 6SL7, 12AU7, 12AT7, 12AX7 and EL37, KT66, KT88, 6550, 6*6, etc.

I have had enquiries from new clients who are totally new to tube amps. Frankly I am rather tired now of repeating myself each time a new person comes to me. Ultimate will ultimately be with only a handful of clients who already know something about tubes and tube amps. That is fine with me.
