I transfer EL39 to Odyssey and did a comparison.

Odyssey - Telefunken EL11 drivers and EL39 power tubes with 5U4G. Set to UL mode with feedback on.
Ultimate - Fivre 6A6 and Siemens EL11 power tubes with 6BW4.

Now they are level ! In fact Ultimate mid range and mid bass sounded more impactful and alive. This is a revelation to me.

Until I get to hear Fonon 6F6M1 metal base, EL84, EL81, EL32 and C3G as power tubes, EL11 remains the best as power tubes. The plot has changed dramatically.

Which leads me back to Glenn's EL3N amp. He was right. This amp must sound real good. He ask me to have one build on EL3N driving EL3N but I went with EL11 and EL12 spez instead in Odyssey.

I kept the picture of the EL3N amp that I was interested in at one time. This belongs to that dude in Spore. Can't remember his name. Zachi has the advanced version.

It takes only 10 secs to hear the goodness of EL11 in Ultimate. It sound airier, punchier, harder hitting bass and has more bite than EL12. Now it's making Susvara sound 2 levels up. It's unbelievable.

How does EL12N sound in comparison to the EL12 and EL11 tubes?

Yup. I called it 6EL3N, which I thought was ingenious because people called the original GEL3N - 6 and G look a lot a like, and mine has 6 x EL3N tubes!

EL12N is good but EL11 is special. I thought it was all a dream but I woke up and listen again now. There it is - it's still there. The uncanny ability to pick out notes and make them come alive. It's just a different feel. 3 dimensionality like you've not heard before and redefines what holographic means.

Try it yourself. You have many EL3N tubes. You just need the adapters.

I am listening to Mariah Carey in her prime sing 'Without You' with Ultimate on EL11 and it conveys a powerful performance. 80s songs comes alive and takes me down memory lane. What is this amplifier doing to me. I can't live without this amp again.

I have several EL11 tubes. IMHO the Telefunken sound the best.
When it comes to EL3N the Philips made tubes sounded the best to me.

I have both Telefunken EL11 and Siemens EL11 and they sound the same to me. Their constructions are the same. They must have come from the same factory or use the same mold.

However I also have this Philips Miniwatt EL11 that @rollinbr help me get it. It sound the same as the Telefunken and Siemens.



See this Philips Miniwatt? It's the same shape as the Siemens and Telefunken. I think the name's different here but it's the same tube.
