According to Radiomuseum, the 6A6 is identical electrically to the 6N7. The date code UB could mean that the tube is from 1938. -Oldies but goodies....This is a National Union 6A6. Great sound too and no noise. It has become almost a norm that tubes are quiet in Ultimate.
Those beautiful stickers on the Italian tubes are not certificates or date codes but tax exempt stamps. The Italian government wanted to promote the use of vacuum tubes and made them tax exempt. There's really no reason for me to get another pair of Ken Rad 6N7 when I have these.
L to R : Fivre 6N7G smoke glass, Mazda 6N7G (this is really Visseaux), Fivre 6N7G clear glass, Mullard EL32 smoke glass and vintage Fivre 6A6 with certificate !
It says Finanze on the sticker - the Finance Ministry must have employed a good graphics team with Italian flair! There's no reason to own these tubes until Ultimate appears. Haven't use them for ages. That's correct Mordy. 6A6 and 6N7 are electrically equivalent.
Fivre 6A6 is in it now. Glad I didn't bin these. What a tone ! 6A6 and 6N7G are my fav tubes suddenly.

The date is just a date of tax exemption during WW2 - not a production date. You have to decipher the white print on the bases. The FDD20s are the most precious of them all. Pity I cannot use them as they are 12.6 volts. 25 MAG 1942? These have to be my oldest tubes. Is MAG March?
I had 5 but I think I gave one to @paramesh when he bought my GOTL.
I am sure there was cross branding but Visseaux could be made in France. It's a beautiful pair that cost me just $50 back then. Both Fivre and Visseaux are Italian tubes. This was during the days of Elise when we were trying to hunt down ECC31 but found 6N7G instead.
