Canadian Marconi? -You need GE 6N7 (yes - I know...).
With all the talk about 12V tubes, I am not convinced that you need that option, and I am not convinced that a 12V version of a 6V tube sounds the same. I have a number of 12V tubes but find that I don't use them.
Then you have the small signal tubes that operate on both 6 and 12V and if your amp is wired for 6V operation you don't need 12V either.

I am not convinced that I need 12v too. GOTL has the novelty of using 6.3, 12.6 and 25.2. That amp has gone to @paramesh with most of the tubes.

Say Marconi Radiotron. Not sure from where. Australia? Had this pair since Elise days. You would have seen my photos of it. I am most eager to try it when the adapter comes in. Had a pair of 6N7 to 6SN7 adapters before but that was given along with Elise that I sold with 2 x ECC31.

So Radiotron is also in Canada. Metal tubes have a tighter tone. I am hoping that is the case with the 6N7.

Metal Ken-Rad 6N7 and 6C5 are both worth having, very much so. But UT doesn't need them :wink:

This is a National Union 6A6. Great sound too and no noise. It has become almost a norm that tubes are quiet in Ultimate.

Sometimes I think it could be because of this but Eric doesn't think so. He will experiment with 300b amp next to get it as quiet as Ultimate. However he's so caught up with Ultimate orders, that will not be coming soon.

No I don't need them. If I had 6J5 / 6C5 sockets in Ultimate, I will get them but not with Ultimatt.

But then I would be tempted to get these at US$350 a pair. :sweat_smile:

If I have @chrisdrop collection of beautiful 6J5G, I will get another Ultimate 6J5 / 6SN7 but not when I have to start from scratch with 6J5. All the good ones are gone and any that's left are asking for absurd prices. GEC L63 are great too and I had a pair but sold it.
