Comparing Telefunken ECC801S and Brimar 6SL7. This is a difficult one to decide. They are both very good. Treble sweetness and extension are the attributes that stood out. Perhaps the Brimar 6SL7 has a bit more body.
Gorgeous !!!... been getting live updates on this one as it runs in ... seems to be ' the one ' !!! ..
u having one hellva party out there with all of eric's amps !!.

When have I been wrong when I say that a particular amp is good? You have to get on board this one. It's at the top of the chart now. Get the same specs as mine.
Yeah, I need to look for some: 6F6, 6V6, 6L6, 6W6 and 6Y6 tubes... @UntilThen did I forget any? I assume my UltimatE would be a while (too many in front of me now )...

That means you can also use GEC L63. The craziness has just gone up one notch.
However the adapter has a size of 60mm x 120mm. The current standard Mini UltimatE doesn't have this space. The Junior chassis may have this space, and of course the standard Gold (U-Amp) chassis is all good for this adapter.
Alternatively Eric can build 2 socket for 6J5 / L63 instead of 6SN7 but that means going with the bigger golden chassis. The chassis comes in silver and black as well. Or perhaps if you want, Eric can build in 2 x 6J5 sockets and one 6sn7 socket and have a switch to select between the 2.
If you want the utmost flexibility then consider the bigger golden, black or silver chassis. That is Nick's golden chassis. This is only for the bigger chassis. The stock standard chassis and the wooden chassis does not have space to do that.
Then you can have this option regarding driver tubes... see Eric's reply to me below.
Hi Matt,
Yes, with the U-Amp chassis, we can have three driver tube sockets installed.
The middle is the usual 6Sn7/6SL7, and the sides are 2 x 6J6 (or 6SQ7, and possible other Triodes with adapter in future ). with a switch to select between middle and sides... Like Zachi's WhispEr, choosing between the middle twin triodes or the 6P14Ps on the sides .
Wow...What a toy...
