I heard the N8ii in Akihabara at the only store that carries EE over there. Heard every TOTL DAP offered and LOVED the N8ii. I don't have the money for that one, b ut if you do, you can't go wrong. it was a great match with my Odins. I also loved the Sony. It was very smooth with great depth of stage and width. I also liked the form factor vs the other large DAP's. I ahve the AK SR25mk2 because it's a perfect size to pick up and go, but I'll deal with a larger, heavier DAP for the SQ which is more important to me.

Hello guys!

Reposting a question from the Watercooler thread - has anyone heard EE Evo with Liquid Links Venom cable?
Has does it sound? Is it worth it?
My setup for hip hop, EDM and bass heavy pop on IEMs is iFi iPower Elite 12v DC power > FiiO M17 in enhanced over-ear headphones mode with Dance setting on the equaliser > Liquid Links Venom 4.4mm balanced > Empire Ears Legend Evo.

The Liquid Links Venom was the final addition to that setup and was absolutely worth it. It thickened the sound, made it less metallic, more natural, vocals were clearer, and it added a touch of warmth.

The PVC sleeving is a bit rubbery and stiff, it takes a bit of tucking behind your ear, but it’s not microphonic, unlike the PW Genesis stock cable, and it seems to work with lots of IEMs. I use it with my Empire Ears Zeus XIV and it smooths that out without colouring the neutral sound signature or losing any clarity in the mids.

Since I got the Liquid Links Venom, I listen to my Legend Evos at home as much as my Abyss 1266 TCs and Enleum 23R desktop setup.

Cables are always the last thing I upgrade, I like to get to know the stock sound first, and take my time deciding what I think it needs to add the finishing touch.
