Elysian Annihilator 2023

The collection ranges from Fourte, A18T/12T and Z1R as the oldest to xe6, Annihilator, Mentor, Trifecta and Ragnar as the most recent, which some “classics” like Traillii, Jewel, Mason FS, Erlkonig, Odin, EVO in between. And I'll stop here 😅.
Curious on your take of the Annihilator 2023 vs the Jewel? Assuming these are both UIEMs? Do you find either "bright"?

Yes, both universal IEMs. I do not find either bright. The Annihilator has a reputation of having the "best treble" and some equate that with "elevated treble", but that is not how I hear it. It has good treble presence and it is of high quality but I do not find the Annihilator a bright sounding IEM like e.g. the Ragnar or Fourte. The Jewel has good treble as well but it is not bright sounding either. The upper mids can sound a little forward at times, but nothing egregrious imo.

Thank you! Can you speak to the "airiness" and "separation" between the Annihilator, and Jewel? I'm also interested in female vocal, and piano comparisons.

Can anyone tell me anything about the nozzle size on the Annihilator 2023? Is it similar to something like the Monarch MkII?

I'm not familiar with Monarch MkII, but the nozzles on Anni23 are quite large. I prefer to use Final E tips with them, and it is a bit of a struggle to fit them, but once they are on they are not going anywhere. You'll be able to use any large-bore tip that you like with Anni23. I sometimes swap to the Azla Sedna EarFits, which brighten the Anni a bit vs the Finals, with a sacrifice to longer-term comfort.

The ends of the nozzles diameter seem the same to me. The stem is thicker on the Anni including a longer lip.

Sorry, I missed your post. Separation is excellent on both. The Annihilator has more treble extension and "air", although I think the Jewel sounds better in this area than the measurements would suggest. Despite the treble being a bit more relaxed, it is still one of the most detailed/analytical IEMs imho.

Which DAP do you prefer to synergy with Anni23 N30 or M9+? Thank you.
N30 is a better pairing to me since it expands the staging compared to M9+ and its more intimate staging. N30 also provides even more air, separation and sparkle (though not too much) to Anni than M9+. The warmth you lose from M9+ can be made up partially through adjustments with N30’s many settings.
