Elysian Annihilator 2023

I sent them an e-mail yesterday, but I had no reply. I give them some time, then I'll try with the chat, thank you :)
Failing that, you can the Elise Audio Discord server which I'm a part of. Other than being a fun place to hang (where the Elise owners are very active), they also have a support channel.

They just answered me that the Annis are coming "anyday now".
I have to book my flight to London to pick up them 😬

I'm glad they're arriving soon, but wait, you're flying to London just to pick them up? Where from?

Rome, Italy. I found tickets about 60€ if I go and come back the same day. And it's always less than custom taxes (thanks, brexit) if they send me with a parcel.

Oh, that's not bad! And you can listen to the Annihilator on the flight back :)

Hello everybody. Sorry, but i dont agree. I order Annihilator 30. april 2023. So 5 months now? And still nothing. About transparent we can talk when arrive....
I ordered mine from Elise Audio, so I guess your experience depends on where you ordered yours from.

Have you tried reaching out to your retailer?

How does the Annihilator play off the 30NLE or the C9?
Haven't used it on C9, but the 30NLE gives it a beautiful presentation. Full, dynamic, punchy and with excellent clarity. As you know, Anni performs so well with more power and the 30NLE provides an abundance of power and a high ceiling to let it sing. IMO

Side note: I was so lucky to get the last set available at Zeppelin Audio! Glad I didn't have to wait!

I order it directly from Elysian. And for me is not normal to asking producer every week, how its look. I asking every month. And answere is still in 14 days, in 14 days etc. Iam not pushing it. My collection is huge. But when i have with someone deal - will be in 2 months i agree and lets go. But delay 3 months is not standart. When i know it from begin that will 6 months no problem. I will wait. This is about transparency.

Ah, well, I was talking about transparency from Elise Audio specifically, as that’s the experience I had.

You’re talking about Elysian, so we’re talking about two different things.

That’s too bad about your experience with Elysian, but I can’t comment on that as I’ve never purchased anything straight from them.

I hope they ship it out soon for you sake.

Early days yet but....

....based on my past experience with other "hard to drive/scales well" IEMs like the IER-Z1R, I went straight for my desktop gear when Anni arrived the other day, and so far I think the Schiit Vali2+ tube amp sourced from the Bifrost2 may be just slightly ahead of the same DAC with Jotunheim2 balanced. Both deliver a powerful, visceral bass performance coupled with treble that extends so far that it feels like it's going out the top of my head sometimes. The Jot2 can be just a fraction "too much" on some tracks, whereas on others it's excess is what I'm after. I'd say it's probably 60/40 in favour of the Vali2+

I'm hearing the RS6 to be very close to the desktop rig I've got, what Plugins are you using? I've got the Fixed Sample Rate one set at 176400, and Sound Field at 1.25. I've noticed those both can significantly enhance stage size, particularly depth with other IEMs on the RS6, and Anni is no different.
Interesting. I was an early adopter of the Schiit gear back in 2011 and I recently considered buying a Jot. What about the Bifrost/Jot2 is "too much” for your taste? My 2nd date with the Annihilator and THX 789 (last night) was hit and miss. I suspect this had more to do with the playback source being my vinyl rig where I observed some records (those cut in the past few years, and cut hot at 45rpm) to carry WAY too much low frequency output resulting in a crunchy and unstable presentation. My Focal Clear provided a similar playback experience, though not quite as hot and heavy, so I do believe it to be a disorder with certain records on the vinyl rig, and not the Annihilator. Remasters of pop and rock records from the 1990s sounded phenomenal... probably the best I've ever heard them. The next step is to use the N7 as a DAC source to feed the THX 789 and I have ordered some breakout cables to facilitate that happening.

It was really only by comparison to the Vali2+, which is just a bit leaner/tighter in the bass than the Jot2. It feels like the Jot2 overloads Anni’s elevated midbass a little on some tracks, whereas the Vali2+ hits a sweeter spot.

This could all still be my preconception of Annihilator being a treble specialist, so my expectations are biased that way. It’ll probably just take some time for my ears and brain to continue to adjust to Anni’s magic, and I’ll wind up using the Jot2 more.

I’m going to keep this brief tonight. The Annihilator driven by the THX 789 is some next level… I’m a headphone guy. And I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy some outstanding sound systems in my day. The closest I’ve come to that experience in an IEM was the Trio (not the Odin or the Mest MKII or the Monarch MKII or MKIII). Until tonight. I have some noise issues I need to sort out (there is a lot of outboard connected to my console), but this is something else. I really cannot believe it. Hey @OvnFrsh where are you at? You have this combo don’t you? Have you driven the Annihilator from your THX 789?

So… what I have here with this signal path configuration are reference quality bass cannons. Heavy, dark as hell, with top class clarity and extension. They sound so visceral and fun it’s almost ridiculous.

dark as hell
What.
You clearly don't know what dark means. Hint: It's the opposite of bright. Second hint: The Annihilator is a supernova.
And the Anni is not "reference", i would also not call it a bass cannon but i could see it, but there are IEM's that pronounce the bass way more.
