But do you think anything changes besides the color from the Cadmus 8W I already have?

Well just going on recent Eros S vs Eros S 1st anniversary which was more of a cosmetic change. It looks more like a color change for the accessories on the Cadmus 8w vs an actual new cable. But that purple is a looker.

If so, I put it on the Monarch OG and use the standard one on the IER-Z1R... which seem better matched in terms of colors...

I want now order Cadmus 8W. Because i have only 4W. I waiting for some discount. And this violet version are not for me. In tech spec of this cables are not any diference. So look like realy only cosmetic change. So you can rest easy.

You are more than lucky!!! Right now there is a (discounted) cable upgrade program on the Effect Audio site. You send them the 4W and they send you the 8W. Check if it's financially convenient for you.

Maybe it's used to upgrade two cables at a time to 8w... but let's wait for someone from EA to reply because I'm not sure. Alternatively you can always send them an email, they usually respond quickly.

I disassembled two cables to test the Cadmus 8W on the IER-Z1R... lol
I took the MMCX from the Eros 8W of the iBasso IT07 and the Cadmus 8W from the Monarch OG. However, excellent Cadmus + IER-Z1R combination... and now they are all silver... beautiful and good sounding!!!

The other two options are hybrid 8W cables, Ares S + Cadmus would be an 8 wire with 4 strands ares and 4 strands cadmus.

I think all three options are 8W. Difference is, first is 8W of Ares S only. Other two options are upgrade your Area S 4W to a new Hybrid 8W cable consisting of your 4W Ares S with 4W of Cadmus or 4W of Cleo II... 'FrankenAres' cable for Halloween more or less. This is how I read this graphic.

Hello @kaeswiss That is correct Send us your Ares S 4W and we will build you a custom Ares S 4W + Cadmus 4W (total 8 wires) at an additional $163.18.

Thanks Jordon. I had also emailed this question to marketing@effectaudio.com and Jason responded with the explanation. I was wondering if you have any pictures of how the Ares S 4W + Cadmus 4W Frankenstein cable looks like.
