Eddie Current Zana Deux owners

Just a teaser here. The Zana Deux is, in my mind, the finest headphone amp available. It plays everything on all frequencies at perfect levels and perfect intonations. The Zana Deux, again in my humble opinion, does not discriminate against high or low impedance headphones. It strives to give "equal opertunity listening pleasure" to all headphones. Is there a downside? Yes! I don't think it can walk on water.

That run of Zana's had special hand built Soybean oil jumbo caps in them requiring a special circuit design. The caps were leftovers from the "Moth" days and no longer available. Craig built enough Zana's for the Soy/oil caps he had left. To run another cap will require a redesign of the circuit and probably will not be as good.

Does anyone know how much $$$ is required for deposit ?

Is this an assumption or has Craig told you this?

I suggest you get your information directly from the source. You can get Craig's contact details at www.eddiecurrent.com (he is good about responding to emails) or give him a call.

i got an email from craig, apparently they needed something that went with the power cords, but they are pretty much all done.
if someone could help me up with uploading pics to head-fi i could demonstrate the insides of the famed ZD.

this thing better be good... i've spent over 200 on tubes for it already.

also: all those wires inside it are making me doubt the ability of interconnects to make a difference with this amp...

sad part is that i'm gonna be away this weekend and not be around when it's delivered.

Don't dismiss interconnects until you try.

Sample some, but doubt you'll have to spend a lot. M-Paths are a good option and seem to work well with the EC amps. Check the FS forum to see if they are still for sale, if you're interested that is.

Sorry to hear that you won't be around when it's delivered.
