If the dual driver had two output bores then yes you cold put two, separate crossover point on each part of the dual driver and have 2way system.

But a 3-Way crossover universal only has one bore that leads to your ears. A dual driver has a output 'slit' for each driver, but only one bore for the two 'slits'. Technically you can break the parallel connection between the dual drivers, but how good it sounds after you crossover it like that I really don't know. Also is there even enough space in your shell to fit a 7-way electronic crossover in after stuffing 8 drivers?

So if the dual driver has one output bore for two slits of the single drivers which are joint into dual driver then whethever you do with connection of the single drivers constituting dual driver you will always have a given sound coming from one slit which plays a specific part of frequency. I just don't know how one can categorize sound coming from one slit of the dual driver as 2ways.

Huh? I'm not sure I understand what you mean. A dual driver is just two single drivers welded together, so it still has two sound 'slits' for sound output. The output bore is pretty much the same as the bores of a CIEM. What I understand from what you said is that IEMs like the SE535 and UM3x should be classified as "One-way" because they only have one bore.

Looks like it will be another couple of weeks before the Kickstarter campaign starts for the universal EP-2.  The prototype makes me think of a really small version of a custom; maybe a half custom looking shell. It doesn't fill up the outer ear like a full custom. The smallish size should accommodate a wider size of ears and I found them very comfortable.  The nozzle will have good length to hold tips with a Comply T400 bore size.
 
I got to do a little a/b with the EP-2 and the Aurisonics Rockets.  The Rockets are a very nice neutral and midcentric sig from a 5.1mm dynamic driver.  The EP-2, a dual BA, has similar levels of bass, less intimate mids in direct comparison, with a brighter, airier treble. The EP-2 just sounds much more open and really airy with an even more neutral frequency response to me.  I think Rocket lovers would also love the EP-2 signature and presentation as compliment IEM.

Omg lol thanks a lot. Am already waiting for my rockets and now there are another 2 incoming from kickstarter again which I'm most likely getting!!... 1964 Ears Adel and now EP-2... :mad:

Lol, not as determined to get that compared to the other 2... Unless they have somehow managed to add in a good mic in it..
But from the timeline, 1964 Ears starts first followed by EarWerkz and then Auris.

This might be slightly OT but do you guys think the 1964adel really have less long term negative effects on hearing? Cos no one has commented (with empirical or statistical studies) about the effects of pneumatic pressures on the ear. I actually posted this in the 1964 thread but didnt really get a response about the effects on hearing. For you guys out there with years of exp listening to inears has your hearing changed (deteriorated) in any way?
