don't blame the camera for user error :P

I must admit that this is the most creative way of making tips for a phone.

I don't understand why people bother posting such bad pics.

Those days camera are digital and you can have as many go as you want (until you get it right, which doesn't require a Phd in photography).
Might want to cut down on the vino to help with the shake.

PS: apology if the shake is the result of a neurological condition.

An advice from some amateur here, always make sure the subject you want to shoot is in focus/you desired focus state, before you press the shutter. Joe's comment were under assumption that you're using a point and shoot, but with dslr it's a different story. Another way is to stand at a further distance, and then zoom in a bit.

First I have to clarify that although we agree to some extent, I don't think that I am hearing exacly the same how @average_joe hears SM3. Because @avergae_joe is using better tips, and I am using stock tips. @average_joe is so generous that he sent me some Sensorcom tips, while I like those tips my SM3 has broken so I didn't spend much time with them.

Okay, I sent out my SM3 today, for repair. And there was much space left inside the parcel carrying SM3, so I throw in a pair of ear impressions.  And I have sold my e-Q7 :)

Now I don't have them in my hands.

I was using stock tips with my SM3 when I did my comparison between SM3 and e-Q7.

SM3 with stock tips compared to e-Q7 with Sony hybrids, all based on memory:
  1. SM3 is a little bit veiled in the midrange, as compared to e-Q7.
  2. Instrument separation is better on SM3. By the way, I don't really think that e-Q7 has good instrument separation.
  3. Vocals, especially female vocals on e-Q7 is magical, and actually in some sense, more musical. I really like female vocals on e-Q7. Vocals on SM3 is more accurate, natural, has a fuller body, and warmer.
  4. SM3 has more bass qunatity compared to e-Q7.
  5. SM3 has a more laid back treble compared to e-Q7.

As for bass and treble, I don't dare to comment much, as I don't have a strong audio memory and I am getting used to Radius DDM :) Actually I double check by listening to the phones when I write comparison. Since they are not with me anymore, ...The points above are those that strike me the most when I compared the two of them.

I think I shall refrain from commenting further until I get back my SM3 and try them with some Monster triple flanges :)

Interesting comparison!

The SM3 has a more laid back treble than the e-q7?! I heard the e-q7's treble as already being a bit laid back!

the SM3 treble is not as laid back as the ortos ,it is has a greater presence and is brighter with more sparkle than the ortos using most tips except for maybe the stock comply and monster triple flange in my humble opinion

Just when I want to get it from handheldaudio, Mick said it's out of stock and I need to wait 10 days. And I don't feel like getting it from earsonics.com, with the tax and 30 euro shipping. Wonder if this is a sign for me to just get custom...any suggestion on good websites to get them?

Lucozade - the KODAK DX4900 camera you use has a MACRO button. Use it to make sharp images of subjects close to the camera.

Macro focus range 7 cm - 70 cm (2.7 in - 27.5 in)

It's the button with the flower and mountain:

It's active when you see the flower in the display:
