Earphones for Around $70

misterDX and Graphis_7:

You two are the only people I have ever heard that are dissing the Denon's. Yet, you don't explain your views at all.

Why are the Denon's so terrible?
They've been recommended as some of the best IEM's under $100.

Hmm. Any other suggestions? Leaning pretty heavily for the Denon's now. Couple questions.

How do they compare with the Koss KSC75's and my old Creative EP630's?

What kind of "big-can" sound do these resemble? (Grado, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, and etc.)

Thanks!

They're darker than the 75s, but then the 75s are pretty bright. Less bassy than the EP630s, though. Less bass, but better bass, I'd say. Pretty good soundstage, smooth highs...downside is the mids are a little recessed like the 351s. But less so. They sound like...Denon full-sized cans? Lol.

Best for bassheads: oh no doubt.

Best for all-round sound: not so much eh (far too less detail in the treble).

what about the Audio Technica CK7s? From what I've read, they have a brighter sound that you might be looking for and you can find them around your $70 price range.

Hmm. My im716 seller's back!

Looks like that's the choice for me!

A couple more questions

.

What full-size cans do the Altec Lansing's sound like?
Will the Fiio be able to power them sufficiently?
Do you think the price will ever go back down to $50?

Thanks!

I hope so. Because that's what I am getting.
