Just got the Sparrow today.

Sometimes when music is playing, there's suddenly this popping noise so loud. Completely obliterated my ear every single time. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Yeah I think the latest firmware fixed that. I upgraded as soon as I received mine and I haven't had any popping.

I did. The noise was there only after the firmware update.

There's also this interference noise going as well, again after the firmware update. Very mild but whenever it comes up, it's noticeable.

I'm so scared to put it on again :/

Before I update, there was popping noises when I plug the Sparrow in or start/pause. They weren't too loud, so are bearable. But now it just pops up right in the middle of the track.

Those soft pops are the amp engaging. The other thing I don’t know. Maybe try their web page.

I wouldn't mind these soft pops really. But the loud pop is really painful.

Gotta contact the retailer tomorrow asking for an exchange.

Yes, don't blow you're eardrums out, maybe it's defective.

Before the update I have experienced noise with some devices as my Xiaomi phone but with others was silent.
After the update everything was fixed and I haven't experienced any noise at all.
Regarding interference yes sometimes it is there even with WiFi antenna.
But nothing really annoying as a little movement fixes that.

Mine is a Xiaomi as well.

I just tested the pop thingy again (leaving the IEM further out of my ear of course). It seems to happens every 3-4 minutes into playback.

Why don't you try to flash the rom again?

Good idea. Will try flashing the ROM again and report.

Quick update

I just flashed the ROM again. 30 mins and no pop yet, but I'm still scared as crap. Will test it out a little longer before putting on my IEMs again.

Over 1 hours and no pop. So reflashing the ROM seems to fix the pop (for now).

It still pick up cellular noise though. May ended up returning it if the noise get pervasive.

Do you have the unit hanging down with the cable or next to the phone?
It doesn't have extra shielding and it is meant to be used with cable distance.
