It seems like FiiO hasn't addressed the problems of loose jacks and latency.

I think it is also safe to assume E10's USB is synchronous.

Any feedback will help us figure out any possibility and them we can decide how to improve the quality. So far I guess at least 3K E10 had been sold to end user. any we have not receive any

unusual feedback about the quality of E10, of course, there are some people meet the problem when using the earphone with MIC for iPhone, and we will change the headphone socket in the

future.

And E10 does not support asynchronous transmission.

Thanks FiiO. I guess I won't benefit from it if you do decide you change the socket.

Hoping those were isolated cases, I ordered E10. I'll find out in a few weeks.

In a "future" E10 update? (version 3 etc . . ) or in "future" FiiO products?  Will new E10's have an updated headphone socket?

Personally, I'm not having any audible distortion issues yet, but there is definitely some wiggle room & play when I connect my headphones to the E10 (version 2 - with "On and Off" markings for bass), using ATH-M50

That's good to hear. That's why I ordered my 2nd E10 from you guys, even if the 1st one had problems. Love your products.

I have owned E3/E6/E7/E9/E10, and only E10 had the jack problem. I also see here many ppl complain about the same problem with normal headphones (not for iphone).

Is good that you will change the plug in a future. That will allow buyers to have a lower defect rate. Is a good product to be turned down only because a poorly designed plug.

Completely agree with this. I love my e10 and only downside is the plug. I have to exchange mine b.c it is distorting a lot..hopefully new one wont have plug problem.

The 4st batch E10 will have a new name too. in fact, we keep improve the design and the quality , and will release a news about some big change for our E9, E10, and other models, some as below

1, All RCA connector will change to gold-plating connector , it is real golden, not some cheap fake gold-plating.

2, All products will come with a name, we will name our products by the mountain and river, like ALPEN for E17, so when we upgrade E17, we can call it ALPEN II, like what Apple name their products, ipod, ipod 1, ipod2, ipod 3,

3, New giftbox design, more slim and beautiful!

I hope everyone can understand that we can not guarantee all our products can be work perfect, but we will keep try our best to improve it , any suggestion will be welcome!

Do you have any idea of a timescale for this yet?

I've returned my E10 due to jack problem, now I'm wondering whether I should just hold out for this new version, will it be the same price?

A couple of questions for Fiio.

How does using both the line-out and headphones ouput (simultaneously) affect the power of each signal? Increasing the volume of the headphone-out would logically decrease the line-out signal, right? Or are they independent of each other?

Would setting the gain to low bring down signal by 7dB in the line-out?

Dec 18, 2011 at 11:30 PM Post #476 of 541
I believe they are independent of each other. The signal splits after the DAC section. Unlik headphone-out, line-out doesn't 'drive' anything and only needs a line voltage (since line-in is usually >10k ohm). On the other hand, headphone has its own amp circuit to drive headphone.

Also, the gain setting only affects HO, not LO.

Dear feiao,
good to hear that you are going to change the headphone socket in the future. This is not just about earphones with MICs. Have you watched the video I posted recently? Quite a few people (including myself) complained about the noisy socket, losing connection, sound only in one ear and disappearing lows when using proper overhead headphones.
I've returned my E10 for a refund (~€7 wasted to send it back) and not going to order a new one until this problem gets addressed and there are no more similar complaints.

Sorry, please understand what I mean is depend on the defective rate, and we already decide to use a new headphone socket. I am not trying to cover any big quality problem because we already sold out nearly 6k pcs , and of coure we will like to improve the quality even it can help decrease the rate from 1% to 0.5%

Too bad I bought a E10 last week and it's on its way to me right now. It won't have the new improved headphone socket.
