Great! The BT is a great tool to have. With it you can not brick the DX. It is what we use at the factory. Many companies have you send something like this back and then charge you. This will be a handy tool for you and can be used whenever you change the FW or just use the standard method.

Question: does dx90 line out completely bypass the internal amp of the device?

I just noticed when using my ipod(rockboxed) through lineout, the ipod's volume control is completely ignored and the amp's volume control is only used, but on my dx90, when I use the lineout the device can still control the volume as well as on the amp, is this normal?

Yes, because in DX90 the volume control is implemented in the DAC.

dual boot means at the start you have 2 options, if you choose rosckbox you get its sound sig, when you boot in 2.1.5 you hear its signature. so you have both.

Whenever i boost the bass in the EQ the sound getting distorted.. Can someone explain me why this dac is so weak in this part?
 
I have the 2.1.5 fw updated and it's still sadden me because I need the extra bass for my type of my music. And don't get me wrong, I listen to trance (mostly uplifting and tech/psy), Ambient, Downtempo, Chillout, etc. But my taste of music is a bit of complicated so I need it for the Hardcore,Dnb, Darkstep, neurofunk, Industrial, etc.
 
So you see, i have a huge sense of music. And it's electronic

How about just tighten the bass to make it sound more noticeable and tight for a lot of variety of type music? I mean you can have ambient with very tight bass or sub-bass with a good brilliance sound. I know there are headphones out there that provide this type of quality, but I talk about equalizing sound perfectly that can fit for every type of song in DX90. Heavy or not

May I ask what did you investigate about the firmwares? I found the latest official sounds the best.
