what i did was downloaded the second firmware option with some changes in the fonts. then i deleted the old firmware by lurker. then upgraded. saw the new option (left and right balance). but when i look at my artist, songs menu, there is nothing in there. (after reinserting memory card, then rescaning, then formatting and upgrading firmware, then rescaning library again...)
wait... here's what i did. i went to the DIRECTORY, then folders, then the system rescanned my library by folders and saw the new added songs now in the menu. (this seems to be a bug or what)
this solved the problem.
its like adding songs by folder manually. such a hassle but it solved the problem.
Question: If I download Lurker's mod. of 2.1.5 and later wish to revert to standard 2.1.5 (which I think sounds great!) is it just the standard process or will I need to use iBasso tools which I believe can be a chore to make work.

Just open the 90 internal memory on your computer, put the .img file that you used for Lurker0 in the trash, get rid of the trash and then drop on the iBasso 2.1.5 and update. That is all you need to do. I also do a factory reset.
Worked very well, thanks! Still ascertaining the difference in sound signature but all gratitude to lurker0 for such a great job presenting a refined option the new firmware version.
HAving a hard tim deciding which I'll stick with between Lurker 2.1.5 and 2.1, I'm leaning very slightly towards old 2.1, I really find it to have such neutral and flat sq.
Hi everyone, I download the 2.1.5 L1 of Lurker, then extracted and copied the update.img file to the internal memory. I then tried to update the firmware. During the process, the DX90 tells me that the update failed and gives me 3 choices : update from memory card, delete cache/data or reboot. I hit reboot and when I check the system info I see : DX90L1 and V2.1.5, is that normal ? Of course, I did a factory reset after this.
Lurker0 honestly... Ibasso should pay you! Nice job with the 2.1.5L1... I haven't noticed any differences between 2.1.0 and 2.1.5 so far. But there is huge difference between org and yours 2.1.5. Only thing I would change is in my opinion more spacious 3d scene. I love the neutral signature of this and previous FW. Many thanks. If you could elaborate a little bit what was changed and how it affects sound we hear in 2.1.5 I would be glad. High five!
2.1.0 Official is the one i would be using. After comparing all the fimwawares last night
Findings from the process :
1. 2.0.5 has the best bass response and amount but its not balanced.
2. 2.1.5 lacks the oomph and character. its timid
3. 2.1.0 is perfectly balanced and how its supposed to be
4. 2.1.5 L1 is better then the 2.1.5 official i think it has better resolution and separation then the 2.1.5 Off ' i dont know how and i don't care why '
all firmwares were tested on DX90 > LD mk iii (EF 92 Mullards) > HD650
i might test the same on DX90 > Vsonic (GR07&VC1000) soon and post my opinions.
though i dint check 2.0.0 cause of time limitations, i always felt something special about that fw with i-ems and also felt that it was missing something.
The new lurker 2.1.5 sounds so 3d and the imaging is more precise.
I didnt compare it to stock, but I think it is the magic of L/R balance function implementation?
