So far I am loving the DX90, however I have come across an issue. When I play an album, after a song is finished, the dx90 will randomly skip to a different song (not the next song in the album) despite my play mode setting being on "order." Anyone else come across this issue?

This problem seems to be fixed in 2.1.0. What is your version?

If you browse to your albums you want to play via the ''artist'' option from the main menu, the songs should play in the correct order then..

What are the file names of the tracks inside the album folder? Do they start with 01- 02- 03- etc. or do they just have the song names? The DX 90 will play the files alphabetically.

Yeah I have all of my music tagged correctly and they all start with 01, 02, 03, etc. Thanks.

I think ibasso handled mp3 tags in a weird way  in fw200 and 205 so there was difference between filename "01_tralala.mp3" and track name inside the tag which will be only "tralala". when you play songs in Directory mode it will play the songs according to the filenames (it should take the 01, 02, 03 atc. in consideration). once you are not Directory mode, or once you turn the DX90 off and on you will appear in the same directory but not in Directory mode and then DX90 will play the files according to the alphabetical order of the track names in stored mp3 tags - which dont contain 01, 02, 03...

now I am on fw210 and even after turning off and on it plays songs by the filenames.

If you have primarily 16 bit files, then sure. But if you play a lot of 24 bit files, I don't see the advantage. If I'm in error about this, I hope someone will correct me.

Its dual boot,so at the start when you turn on the player, you can choose the stock firmware or the rockbox firmware..when you want hirez you can just pick the stock..but rockbox wont play hirez files, but has some great benefits like the excellent eq settings etc

It still is debatable if 24-bit has an advantage that can be heard over 16-bit in music playback. If you have proof that difference 24 bit files over 16 bit can be heard and makes sound better. By all means share and discuss it in the thread below.

If anyone had definitive proof, that thread wouldn't still be ongoing after more than five years. Thanks, but I don't plan on touching that thread with a proverbial 10-foot pole.  :p

The only evidence I have is my own ears, through conducting blind A/B tests, and that's not definitive proof for anyone, even me. It is, however, sufficient for me to determine how I choose to listen to my music. Basically, the blind testing showed that I could tell the difference in classical music, but not in rock music. Hence, my classical files are 24 bit and the others are 16 bit.

Anyway, we're going off on a tangent. I appreciate the hard work that you and the others in this thread have done to offer alternative FW. Options are a good thing.

How much you bought your bad batch/ good fake 128 Sandisk card?

$135 AUD.

On Amazon, it looks like the seller is Sandisk themselves, but there are a lot of negative reviews of bad cards. I actually don't know where to buy one in confidence at the moment... None of the chain stores in Australia seem to carry it.
