I sent my dx50 back to hong kong "without tracking" for warranty. It wasn't a wise choice to do it without tracking.. 4 weeks have passed, they still haven't receive it. It should only take 6-8 business day.... 2 more weeks to go until i can officially announce that the package is lost. Preorder of the dx90 starts march 15-20. Perfect timing, D:

No preorder. When it is ready, they will sell it so you pay for it and it gets sent.

That is even better. I misread the thread earlier where the person mentioned preordering which was for the fiio x5. I assume they're in production now. Does the dx90 have native dsd playback? or is it the same as the dx50 since they're running the same software?

The software is different because it uses a different CPU and different dacs. No, it doesn't do native but will do DoP and in inquiring about this to experts, it comes out the same as it is just DSD packaged on a PCM carrier and comes out as DSD play.

The ES9018K2M is capable of native DSD, it's one of its acceptable inputs, in theory they should be able to do it unless they decide to do it as a software implementation like the current DX50 using PCM.

Yes the dac can but there other requirements, another chip, and the DX90 will not do native DSD.

For a DAP I think the 9018KM is the proper choice, The normal 9018 is more for a desktop DAC that is plugged into the wall, the KM was built for mobile use and to run with less power. Assuming both are implemented to their max potential I'm sure the desktop version is indeed better though, but dual 9018KM should be pretty crazy awesome.

Totally agree, the ESS9018 is definitively desktop friendly and more power hungry as opposed to its little brother which is specifically designed for portability. The DX90 will definitively be interesting with its dual dac implementation.
