Hi guys

I am facing this strange problem, Every time i switch on the NC circuit of the Sony NC100D there is a pulsating noise in the background which changes according to the source file while plugged in the DX90.

I tries all possible source and phones combination still this happens only with this phone and the DX90.

Did anyone else had the same. ?

After 20-30 Hours there is a noticeable difference in the DX90 sound, its more organic, less dry, better highs and better bass response. I hope this change continues till the mentioned 400hrs and boy i will be 1 happy customer. anyways this thing sounds nice and different from my other novice sources.

I feel shortchanged for buying a 8GB (7.45GB) player, and only able to use 5.73GB of it.

At least should let me see something like 7GB+

Current RRP for Dual-Dac AK120 = $1299
Current RRP for Dual-Dac DX90   = $419

And you're feeling short-changed?

And the AK120 uses WM8740s, which are inferior to the ES9018K2Ms.

I find the SQ of a dap depends more on how they implement the dac/amp etc.  You can't just compare the raw specs of 2 dacs and declare that the dap which uses the 'better' dac will sound best.  All the components along the chain and how they are implemented will affect the final SQ.  Synergy among earphones will also play a part.

I was only referring to the shortchange in internal storage; in actual only 5.73GB is usable but it was advertised as 8GB (7.45GB). I'm using microsd so this doesn't really bother me but I'm just commenting.

(The worst was my Galaxy S4. Was supposed to be a 16GB phone but I only ended up with about 8GB.)

Both ->

DX90 (Screen off) with built in amp VS DX90 (Screen off) with Little Dot mk3  (latter is noisier)

AND

DX90 (Screen off) with Little Dot mk3 VS DX90 (Screen on) with Little Dot mk3 (latter is noisier)

This therefore suggests that both the built in amp, and the screen of dx90 give off noise.
Just that with the DX90 + built in amp, the noise generated by the screen was probably not notable

are you charging or connected by usb when driving the Mk3? it could the USB power that adds noise

I Guess thats that. SAD !

The SAD part is that you realize that after $430.

I'd say you definitely need better headphones, but appreciating good sound comes after years of trying stuff, dx90 is unbelievable value for money and sounds great, imo you are mistaken my friend, check your priorities,no offence intended

Yes, but people have reported the DX90 to be better with most IEMs.

I only use iems as well and I prefer the DX90 over the AK120.  Perhaps it suits better for my music but there are others who prefer the AK120.  I can only rate between daps when there are massive differences like the DX100 is much more musical and detailed than the DX90.  There is a smaller difference in my mind between the DX90 and the AK120.

Just received my DX90 and will go through the evaluation for the next 30 days before deciding to keep it or not. New to Ibasso. What is the best way to sync music to the DX90? I didn't see anything on how to do it in this thread and not much to speak of from the Ibasso site.

The fastest way is to have a good, fast microSDXC adapter and copy music using your computer to a card. I believe someone mentioned they ordered a USB 3 adapter, so that would likely be the fastest option if you have USB 3 ports.

You can copy files by plugging the DX90 to your computer with a USB cable. This is the easiest, but not the fastest. You'll get access to both the internal storage and the microSDXC card this way (at least on Windows).

Hope that helps,

Thanks. I'll try both tonight. I have the 128micro SDXC card and will play with both methods. Right now, really getting into Ahmad Jamal and he sounds really nice on the DX90.

mine is under away too returned my dx50 for the dx90. (my dx 50's forward button was broken)
it has a dual cpu instead of single. does it improve the UI a lot?
can't wait to pair it with my v3.
