This is amazing! I'm looking forward to this SDXC 2TB.

The problem though is that I doubt that they will be available AND affordable for a very long time (far enough away that I am not even factoring them in). I would prefer a double slot so that two relatively affordable 64G cards could be used. But hopefully 128G cards are available and affordable relatively soon.

I highly doubt the dx50 comes out at 1/4 of the price of their flagship. I think 400 to 600$. I have no clue of
course. They could apply the iriver strategy and sell it 15 000$.

isnt the dx100 priced at 830?

Even at this price $300 for DX50, I hope iBasso can still maintain the sound signature of DX100.

How are they going to maintain the same DX100 sig when they're using a different DAC chip? Considering we already know the DAC chip I doubt they'll use the same amp chip or even the same implementation in the amp section due to size restrictions. Heck, they're not even using the same OS the DX100 is using. You realize the DX50 isn't meant to be a smaller cheaper DX100 that will sound the same but instead is meant to be a step below their flagship DAP and it will be tailored more for the C(IEM) crowd then the crowd driving stuff like LCD2's. If you want a DX100 sig buy a DX100. I strongly doubt the DX50 will meet the needs you're hoping it will.

I was thinking of getting a dx100 but then ibasso announced dx50 and i decided to wait and see.

A week ago they released the specification of dx50 which someone say it is amost the same as Fiio x3.

Both X3 and Dx50 are mounted with WM8740 chip which is known as a high performance DAC.

However, considering the age of this chip, is it still outstanding in these day, compared to those newer DAC chips?

I love the size, the physical bottons and the UI of Dx50 but i really don't want to sacrifice too much SQ compared to DX100.

Beside, can anyone here tell me if DX100 sounds "digital" (i know AK100 does) ? Personally i prefer a netural, natural sounding signature like ipod..

Sorry for so many questions and appreciate if someone can help!

If you can afford the DX100 and don't mind the bulk, go for it. It will make any headphone you hook up to it sound its best and some pairings are almost symbiotic, elevating both source and headphone to something special. DX100 + HE500 and DX100 + 8.A for instance.

Does DX50 support ALAC and 64GB MicroSD?

How much does it cost?

I estimate it'll be $175 - $999.99USD

...does this thing take sd cards or what!?

support SDHC and SDHC Micro SD card, up to 2TB
2TB, amazing right? We may get a ipod classic killer.
In some way, I hear a voice that the price of DX50 is lower than $300. I'm serious , not kidding

I heard a figure of RMB 1,500 mentioned....

I am fine with the size of dx100, the touch screen and UI were the things that kept my money in wallet.

most important at least for multi ba in ears, will be that the output is around 0 ohm. i cross my fingers.

Just read the spec's. It's already stated there.
