I use Keith Don't Go also for evaluating anything sonic in my stuff. So magical with the DC340 as the source.I don't know how anyone can say this thing is "Bass Light". My unit isn't even burned-in yet and and there's plenty of slam, beautiful decay and layer upon layer of texture. Just finished up a session with Diana Krall - her vocals are wispy and luscious, the upright bass resonating and reverberating with with each pluck of the string and I've never heard such natural drum skins. I've played a bit of Zeppelin and Derek Trucks "Volunteered Slavery" off the Songlines album is sublime. As I type, I've got Nils Lofgren's Keith Don't Go (Accoustic Live) running in through my Bonnevilles (not my most resolving set) and his vocals sweep you away with all the emotion in his voice while each pluck on the guitar resonates with such lifelike presentation. And without question, this is the blackest background I've ever heard. Just stunning - and it's not even broken in.... Hard to imagine what's coming - but to my ears and with every genre I've played, I flat out reject the notion this thing being light on bass.
One question though, I'm plugged on for Super Gain and the green icon is illuminated in the upper left - but there is no choice in the gain settings for "super gain" I still only have L, M, & H as choices and I dont hear any difference with the plug in or plug out. What Am I missing?
