I was seriously considering the SP3000 and the SP3000m but both DAPs have a common problem, their highest balanced output power is only 6.3Vrms.
There are many complaints on the amp section not being able to provide enough juice to bring out the expected dynamics and soundstage of many IEMs and bottlenecks them.
There are similar complaints on the Sony WM1ZM2/AM2 as well.
Even the AMP12 module which released alongside the DX300 and is interchangeable with the DX320 and DX340 had a maximum balanced output of 8.3Vrms which sounded excellent with my Annihilator 2023.

Not everyone needs a portable brick with 8Vrms output. For many out there the SP3000M would be a much better choice. Others like you sure can get the Dx340 for its extra power.
Was emailing Paul about another issue and asked when the DX340 will be available. He told me they are hoping by end of the month. One of their suppliers is late getting a part they need. He is not happy about it. Thought I would pass that along.
It will have different DAC chip and better quality construction with a battery I can replace myself. 2 Watts is enough power. The Dx 320 has enough for what I have.
Is there any information already whether the DC in will bypass the battery ?
I’m also curious whether this will have an Xmos USB chip so it can be used as a standalone DAC/AMP with zero latency.
However I’m assuming the answer is “No” to both the questions above.
FiiO is about to refresh its M17 DAP => M27 next month and it should support bypassing battery and have the Xmos chip same as its predecessor.

The standard out is around 1200 mW and with the DC input the output is 2000mW or 2 watts. The power supply is included. With the DC in, the battery is bypassed. The AC adapter is similar to the DX320 MAX, the plug is switchable, the same dimensions. When shipping to EU, we will provide an EU standard plug. The DC plug is 3.5mm*1.35mm. The DX340 will come with an AC adapter that you can use in your area.
