Img firmware not available yet. Already requested from Paul. I suspect there will be a firmware update in a month or 2 anywayI just did the ADB commands for faster boot and debloating, player really does respond faster in Android mode now! Faster boot as well.
Has anyone rooted the DX340 yet?

Seems like a just opened store on Sept 20th 2024.Found a version on AliExpress with free shipping to Canada on the premium version.
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPwZnxv
Store has a good rating as well.
Anyone have a lead for a quality 2.5mm to USB C adapter?
I've purchased my cables from this store: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005364196957.html
GX16-2 TO 2.1, they also have GX16-2 TO 2.5
Here you have the USB-C variants: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005594347239.html
GX16-2 TO Type-C or DC 2.5 TO Type-C or DC 2.1 TO Type-C - all in different lengths as well
Great quality from my POV and also great price.
I'll be doing LPSU GX16-2 to 2.1 and then 2.1 to 1.35 via adapter (no one seems to fabricate GX16-2 to 1.35 directly).
And...I've also ordered an USB-C to 2.1 and then 2.1 to 1.35 via adapter - for external battery so I can also get extra AMP power while on the go

After seeing the horror that happened to some of your packages, I have to share that Audio Heaven (audioheaven.eu) is a dream to deal with! My package was in pristine condition, not to mention the lightning-fast speed of shipping. Besides, Marek is just the kindest soul. If you're looking for a secure place to purchase from in Europe, Audio Heaven's the way to go. They stand behind their service, so should you even need anything, they'll take the best care of you.
What a unit the DX340 is! Also, am I the only one who sees the resemblance between the DX340 and the Cybertruck? This thing's a miniaturized Cybertruck, you can't convince me otherwise.

I'm assuming you have directly gotten in touch with them, right?

Since they don't have a webstore of their own as of right now, they sell through eBay and Allegro.pl and they haven't listed the DX340 anywhere, I also looked into them a bit.
Enjoy your new cyberesque toy!

Yes! Marek's also very quick to respond via email, so you can ask away.I'm assuming you have directly gotten in touch with them, right?

They have their own website, but not webstore. Perhaps it's due to the technical difficulty of setting one up. Ebay and Allegro are established platforms, so they're likely easier to use. The Ebay store covers the whole Europe, while Allegro is available in specific regions (IIRC: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Czech Republic), and soon they'll offer global shipping.
Now, I'll have to clock some serious hours on the DX340 before it's burned-in

Probably a combination of both i think, more packing would help, not dropping it on its corners whilst in the couriers possession would also help though.I'd say it's more a problem with the Bulgarian Dealer not packing properly. The packaging is a simple "Bubble Wrap Pouch" offering minimal protection. If the dealer's trying to be "Green", he fails at the non detachable bubble wrap.
The damage occurs before the final courier get his hands on the package. I've seen the overnight trunkers being loaded. Packages are lifted into trunker by conveyor belt and two operatives in the back distribute the parcels. You might expect this to be done carefully but I've seen them throwing parcels from the conveyor to the back pf the trunker. These guys are under the same time constraints as the final Couriers and if they don't get it done in a timely fashion, they face dismissal. The only way to get goods undamaged is good packaging by the supplier.Probably a combination of both i think, more packing would help, not dropping it on its corners whilst in the couriers possession would also help though.

As long as it doesn’t operate or explode like a cyber truck, I’m fine with the comparison.

Ok, I work in Logistics and there is a high value process for things like 'iPhones' (similar value to a good quality DAP) for example, these are not handled in the same way as standard packets/parcels and are shipped on a different service for this reason - may be part of the problem? The damage occurs before the final courier get his hands on the package. Just accept the fact that the Bulgarian dealer uses the cheapest shipping option available to him. The site does not even give you an option to pick an express shipping or other priority deliveries. Probably he also cheaped out on the packaging.Ok, I work in Logistics and there is a high value process for things like 'iPhones' (similar value to a good quality DAP) for example, these are not handled in the same way as standard packets/parcels and are shipped on a different service for this reason - may be part of the problem?
I get tons of packages from DHL throughout the year and they are the best. Of course every courier service depends on the location. Some places one is better while in other places others are better.

In our case, because we ordered so close to end of the year and when the actual 1st batch was received it was a little "crazy" with everything going on...so perhaps that's why the extra packaging wasn't sufficient or enough to fully protect the outer box of the DAP.Just accept the fact that the Bulgarian dealer uses the cheapest shipping option available to him. The site does not even give you an option to pick an express shipping or other priority deliveries. Probably he also cheaped out on the packaging.

Even though I don't appreciate the box being slightly dinged in some corners, I do fully appreciate the involvement hands-on, speediness and smoothness with which the whole process went, bare in mind, in my case in particular, I was speaking with Evangelos (ibass-shop.eu) via chat, late evening during the 2nd day of Christmas (Dec 26th).
I mean if this is not commitment to your business and clients I don't know what it is...and everything has been as we have discussed, stock received, package sent right when received and got before the end of the year.
Ok, the box came dinged, I would have preferred it not to be, but at the end of the day I care more about the product and accessories themselves, to be intact as well as how the rest of the transaction went (trust in what the seller says, secure transaction, speed)...smooth as butter with maximum involvement and dedication.
Props for everything! I don't think I can count on my hand's fingers how many people would do this sort of service.
I haven't received or asked for any discounts, nor is this a sponsored message (even though one might think otherwise), I am just happy with the way things worked out.
I was looking into getting a PB5...but then revisited DX340 (that I recalled) and settled on it with the lookahead of compatibility with AMP 14 and future AMP card yet to be released. The PTT moment came in an instant, and Evangelos was there to sort it out right away...I mean, from my side it's a sign that it was meant to be this way.
Even though I'm not looking for them, I do believe in things/happenings like these, so don't judge

I Spent some more time to figure out what this 1 bit discrete and 16X8E exactly is. I was going to write up a whole bunch of Abracadabra......But that would be too much to sink in the time of a cup of coffee. Please allow me to summarize everything.
Yes, I searched around Hiby, and it appears to me that R8II is FPGA based and not 1 bit discrete, which set it greatly different to 340 in design architecture
Edit: I was corrected and confirmed by Joe,Hiby that Darwin is indeed similarly a 1 bit Discrete but under different Analog filter architectures

What is 16:4 ? Yeah, we get 4x. This is 4 active signals polarities of L+ L- R+ R- This is your 16X
What is that 8E ? Why don't other DAP/DAC advertise it ? well....it is because they were never a Discrete to begin with. They were always an integrated process. FPGA is an integrated, DAC-IC is an integrated. While FPGA based like Chord and Hiby are only Algorithim/filter integrated, the DAC-IC is both algorithm/filters + Current or Voltage summing integrated as well. This allowing FPGA a more flexibility to design their own Current/Voltage mode by themselves. But skipping the Complexities of Analog filtering (mind you, in order to design a good Analog filters at Square Waves is not an easy feast)
Discrete 1 bit is FPGA but Algorithm Digital filters, are separated and discretely done from Analog filtering which is also a LPF. Because each Polarities of L+ R+ L- R- is carrying an 8X time delayed, and then summed into 1 final signals. This is an equivalent to 8X Analog Over Sampling. But this is done at the Digital 1 bit DSD Domain. We calling it analog, because any continuous Square wave is actually 1 bit....because it can only be 1 or 0, not both ... Up or Down only...but is continuously so.
This is why other DAC/DAP do not disclose about their own Elements. They will tell you how much Oversampling they are doing, 2-4-8X ? but never the Elements. Others like Hiby is advertising 128X PWM, that is an 4X oversampling of 4x32 bits = 128. Because those 4*32 Sampling with digital filterings were all done at Once due to the integrated DSP processing from FPGA or DAC-IC, we just do not hear about the Elements. It is just an algorithms.
1 bits is calling it 8 elements, because Each 1 of these element is an element of 1 signals (8*4=32), time cycled as 1x sample, simultaneously feeding the discrete Resistor time shifting toward the next resistors in order to filter out the noises. That is why it is 8 Elements , and it takes 16X of each elements in order to have what Ibasso have....they simply stated it out loud an 16X8E....Magically, Ibasso dont want to words salad it into (XQuanTimz) Similar to DARWIN.....What exactly is DARWIN ? so what is XQuantimz ? LOLLLLL....just 16x8E is enough. It is essentially 8X overSampling but at the DSD level of 1 bit and not at the multibit processing by PWM stages
Back in the time of D16 and my inquiries for @Paul - iBasso , I was confirmed that the overall sampling rate of the D16 was 128X. This is 16*8=128X or 128 Elements. This really means that all of the Feedbacks, and sampling processing is only Done at the Analog Domains and not multibit PWM domains.
Updated: the digital domain is also 128X rate. That is 4X oversampling as well.
At least, this is what I have been gathering, allow me to share with everybody. The elements of the DACs can also be designed differently as well, for example, an FPGA with everything integrated could have 20 Cores, with each Cores to dedicatedly be processing it own PWM+OverSampling+filters together. Then this will be looked at as a 20Elements designs. But this can not be used as a way to disclose it, because these cores processing can greatly varies with different designs. With 1 bit discrete, we can clearly see the Elements and it components on the PCB board. You can count it on D16 picture

Thanks for starting this list - I also prefer to us MangoOs - in fact iBasso supporting a non-andriod option was one of the main reasons I purchased the dx340. After using it for a week, I had some suggestions/questions to add:@Paul - iBasso
So here are some fix ideas or missing features that can be included in the upcoming firmware patches for the DX340,
- Adding new features to linux Mango OS such as a *Search Bar that looks for tracks/albums/artists* ,
*The ability to tag tracks into a separate Favorites tab* or at least allow sort options for playlist lists by name/artist name ect. ,
*Alphabetic search bar on the side when looking at albums view/artists view/tracks view* ,
*Perhaps an extra tab to show recently added tracks/albums to the media library as well*
These features excluding the already existing search bar for android Mango Player App should also be avaliable for the android Mango Player App as well.
- Mango Player App (android) needs to fix the album art resolution, currently album cover art view is slightly pixelated.
So far the player software on the DX340 that has the best sound quality is Mango OS, I feel like it needs some more extra features to make for a better music player experience.
These are just some I can think of right off the bat, if anyone wants to include anymore please feel free to.
- Double tap to wake - this works for me on the andriod side but the option is missing for MangoOs
- Allow for custom display wallpapers or at least a solid black background option.
- Document how album images should work - I typically place a cover.jpg/png in the album folder for this and it works in most cases but some aren't being picked up. What are the requirements for this image?
- Add a way to change the volume by taping something on the screen instead of relying on turning the wheel.
- A long shot for me would be to add the ability to shuffle by album (i.e. playing a random album from start to finish, then playing another album and so on).

The pure Mango OS, strips everything away. Double tap is Android and won't be available as a number of features in Android, that won't be available. The Mango OS is about stripping everything and no longer Android.
For Android we are working on more features, many of them have been requested, but I don't have a time line for it right now.

I know it will be difficult but, has anyone tried it with a Heddphone two?
