Pretty surprising that DX340 is now launched a couple of months and yet there are very few manufacturers that are making cases for it.

Seems like Jutem is the only way to go if you really want quality, and willing to pay big bucks and endure long waiting period for it ๐Ÿซ  I spoke to them yesterday and 40 days waiting period is going to be the standard production time for all Jutem cases moving forward. Sigh.

Do you know if they are able to customise a case that covers the sharp edges specifically?

Wow Iโ€™m glad I read this. Was about to pull the trigger on one for my L&P EA4.

They have two sorts of leather: โ€˜neroโ€™ and a thicker variation (see the picture below). In the pictures Iโ€™ve seen both cover all the sharp edges with cutouts for the buttons and connectors. The prices recently were 164.5 dollars and 180 dollars respectively, including shipping costs and PayPal fees. There is a variation with a metal grille on the back, a bit like the stock one, but I donโ€™t know the cost.

But they may all cost more now in the US or will soon, given the tariffs.

I donโ€™t think the price Iโ€™ve mentioned is bad given theyโ€™re hand made to order (especially if you consider what an A&K case costs). Yet itโ€™d be good if Ibasso made some variations on the stock one and sold them.

I thought the point of the 'metal grille' on the back was to serve as a heatsink for the DX340. Is there any concern that with the back closed like the one on the Jutem (pictured), the heat would damage the DX340? (That leather does look nice, though).

My Jutem case for my DX340 have metal ventilation on the back. I think for those who wanted to buy Jutem case should get this version.

Apologies, this isn't related to the current discussion, but I promised to add an update about the issues I had with my 340 packaging (damaged in transit) and case (not straight when fitted). This was way back when the device was originally released and I raised the issues with https://ibasso-shop.eu/ and Vangelis who works there responded.

Quite quickly a replacement box was supplied and then a few days ago a new case (@Paul - iBasso advised retailers how to get replacement cases for those of us with issues) arrived in the post.

It's taken a little time, but considering those guys (and the manufacturer) aren't exactly local to myself I just wanted to applaud them for their customer service and commitment to addressing the issues as promised.

We're all quick to criticise (often quite rightly) but I wanted to go on the record and thank them for going the extra mile to sort my issues - it's very much appreciated.

I wanted to report a strange issue I'm having with my battery usage and see if anyone else has noticed this. For the first few weeks I was letting my battery fully discharge and then would charge the DX340 charge in the powered off stage. I would typically see about 10% battery drainage for every 12 hours of being idle. No problems there.

Recently I've started charging it when the battery is low at say 10% vs waiting until the battery fully discharges.

Yesterday I put the 340 on to charge in the morning and left it to charge for about 10 hours while I was at work. Came home, saw that it was at 100% so I unplugged it.

A few hours later I plugged in a new set of IEMs that arrived (Astrolith) just to test them out. I played 3 tracks just to verify all was working before I had to go do something else. I left UAPP running in the background but it was the only app. No music was left playing. I think the battery was at ~98%.

This morning I got up at my normal time and the battery was all the way down to 65%. Android says that in the past 14 hours Android System used 2% and Android OS used 1%. No other indicators.

I have run @Stouthart debloating scripts and have run the advanced tweaking scripts as well. I currently have "Uninstalled" the advanced tweaking scripts just to compare to see if I can notice a sound change.

I do know that UAPP Just released a new version so wondering if it was just burning through resources in the background even though not in use.

Anyone else seeing similar behavior?

Yeah. That would really be nice especially having the sharp edges covered.

I really liked TPU case from the DX320. Scratching my head why even manufacturers who previously worked on DX320 cases are not releasing one for the 340.

To be fair, the stock case is great. Iโ€™d just prefer something that encloses the whole player. In blackโ€ฆ Jutemโ€™s literally on the case.

I'm currently in email chats with Paul - being out of the game for quite a few years, only in the last 12 mths I've been slowly getting back into audio - and my NW-WM1Z is showing its age, in addition to my DX200 volume is playing up (jumping all over the place and at times to a dangerous volume).

Initially contemplated on the NW-WM1ZM2 but thought I'd expand the DX340 too. Been reading reviews, the DX340 seems quite capable and competitive with other brand offerings.

How warm does the DX340 get when running? I'm curious with Jutem's and iBasso's original cases, if the ventilated back is just design or if it's a practical need?

Personally I also owned the Sony WM1ZM2, I don't find DX340 to be anything inferior to the Sony. The DX340 is also much more powerful compared to WM1ZM2, the Sony just don't sounds that good with iems or headphones that requires more power. The ability to change amp card makes DX340 even more appealing not to mention modding amp cards too, the possibility is endless. Best part is it's just half the price of WM1ZM2.
The DX340 will get a bit warm for me a leather case with ventilation is more ideal.

With the stock amp it barely gets warm. The Cayin N6iii is much warmer during use.
