That is because you are using an inverter from battery which is DC, inverted into AC, and then walwart. Both are horible for noises
It gives the same noise that I get when plugged into an power outlet. I knew it was the inverter that is causing it. Wanted to try it anyway. Have to be prepared to deal with hurricanes where I live.

Just found another album that sounds phenomenal with 340 analogues

Everything I have tried on 340 sounds out of this world good! This needs to have DAP of the year award!!!! People need to go on watercooler thread and talk about DX340. They do not know what they are missing.

There wouldnt be questionable things about Bass from the 340. Some have desires that once plugged in 12VDC, there are more impacts and rumbles tp be had. Wishing that it could be similar without DC-in.

But you can not defy physics...cant run a quality 12V from a Linear psu and compare to a mere 3.5V battery packs, or 8V operational rails on the 340 itself without DC

However, we are human, and we have dirty desires 😆😉
I am finding bass to be acceptable now without super gain. When I first got DAP it was not. It is best of course with Super Gain. I would kill to have super gain in portable form.

Needs to be number 1 in Watercooler polls. Yes but this DAP could sell for over $2k and still be worth it. My point is that it is likely better than AK 3000 which cost over $3k. They did last poll at end of the year just when people were getting the DAP so it was not fair. 7 people voted for it.

Love Apocalyptica! Their cover of Metallica’s “One” is my favorite. Sounds even more aggressive than Metallica, which is crazy since it’s just cellos.

Totally! (if it's not a placebo effect, because I simply find it hard to believe that something so wonderful happened here). Greater impact on the lower bottom + 3D effect? Maybe a tiny bit warmer? No matter - because this DAP is just so insanely GOOD. I know it's a cliché, but I give up, I simply have nothing to add.
I only use H1, only low gain DAC/AMP, no super gain.
After the update, I did a factory reset as recommended by Paul.
What's the general consensus on this FW? I haven't read anything but positive feedback about it. Are there any dissenters or is generally agreed that the latest FW bolsters the bottom end? And can someone explain the DAC gain? I understand the harmonics and amp gain is self understood, but is the purpose of DAC gain. I haven't seen that before.

Stick with stock until fully burned in so you know what it sounds like. You may like it more vs newest. This hobby is so subjective. I am in no hurry to update.

There is no sound difference between firmwares. This update has nothing to do with the sound. I hear no difference and if u do its all in your head…literally 😂

It's been done before many times with other DAPs, small tweaks can be done to the DAC filters.

I also hear no differences. I still find the mid bass punch to be quite light pre and post firmware upgrade. It still sounds great, but no different to me. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I wish it did sound different, I am still struggling to fully enjoy the bass presentation on it which is why I have posted it for sale. I will likely revisit it later when there are more amp cards to choose from.

Thank you!!! Love it!!! Moarrr please !!

Love it!!!! Exactly what I wanted!! Moarrr pleawee

The reasons why I am loolong for these is because organic instruments have never been sounding so lively and organic, realism this way from a digital source....let alone DAP, I have been loving it since D16 and now 340 !!!
