Yes, there are subtle changes in the right direction.
After the update, I did not read other reviews on the subject, so as to avoid suggestions and evaluate it properly with my ears. So the only factor causing a possible error in the assessment is my own autosuggestion - subjective judgment.

I certainly would not worry that the new software has a bad effect on the sound.
I think I've put it properly here:

I am holding off until I have working IMG and a way to go back if I do not like tuning as I solved my charging issue which was my own fault for not noticing I was using cell phone charger vs one I bought for DAP charging. No issues since I started using DAP charger. If its not broke why fix it?

I just did. I was planning to get one. After hearing it. Decided to skip. Jan tubes strike again.

That said. There is the possibility the tubes need burn in.
I am sure they need some burn-in. You have PB5 so already have best! Wait for AMP17 and that one I am interested in.

Matt swears the Super High Gain mode will wash & wax your car so I’d try that if you haven’t.

Btw for anyone reading my comments and joking back and forth with Matt know I’m joking and he’s trustworthy for sure here and very experienced with iBasso so again, trust. I do.
I will buy your DX340 minus the stupid sales tax if you don't like it! That is how confident I am you will love it. I would not mind having a spare to go with my spare Maven II. Some people are under-estimating this DAP big time! It is top-tier!

Hey now, he may be a fan of only EDM or hiphop like Eminem and Daft Punk, and you will end up emptying your wallet

So, @mattclarke18 , I look into pure battery that doesnt need any additional Battery Management systems that can introduce noises into the audio. Measured from floor noises -205db/Hz at 10kHz. That is the best there can be measured

Nickle Cadmium is the best suitable as battery packs.

These Ni-Cd packs can be found with 12V and a charger easily off Amazon or Ebay.

Ni-Cd also comes in AA sizes and it takes 10 cells in series to make up 12V for compactability. You can then buy a charger to charge up.

All you need is to make a DC cables that allow you to plug 340 into it and a charger to charge it up
Now with more burn-in without using 12V DC- In with super gain the sound difference between super gain and high gain off battery is not as large.

Why? DX340 does EDM like no other I have heard. I have listened to old tracks and heard stuff that I never have before. The bass slams. Its a master piece. Using with Maven II which has dual DD so IEM used of course is important.

I am going to buy a LPSU! It is a must have. Too much noise on my AC power lines.

You are one of the smartest people on here and I know you know what you are talking about. I have great respect for you! Yes I still prefer super gain over plain high gain and that will not change. I just sold an IEM so have some money. I just want to buy a reasonable price LPSU that delivers the goods.

What about the IFI ipower x 12v PSU? Did anyone try it? Would it be a big difference with a LPSU from it?
Have no idea. People keep recommending different LPSUs so waiting until there is an agreement before buying one. The DAP is so much better than anything I have ever had before so I can deal without having a LPSU for a bit and still be in LOVE!
