I think you are going to like the DX320. It has certain characteristics I have not heard much on other daps, no matter the price. A true involvement in the music, not sound, music. :^)

How is the bass on the 320? Still on a more reference, lighter side?

I would call it full, well defined and when recorded well, substantial without being out of place in the music. It has an excellent bass foundation.

That's good to hear. The bass of the DX 312 was quite restrained or how can you put it too elegant. At least I thought so. It only got better with amp 12w. But could have had a bit more punch and pulling power.

Everybody is very excited in anticipation of hearing DX320, and nobody yet compared it to N8ii or M9.

No, no review link that I know of at this time. You said no one has compared them. The DX320 and the N8ii have been compared.

I was going to ask about comparison to the dx300 instead.
It's not out and those that did have it, stated it positively but did not have the new version amp it's supposed to have.
Then there was general positive impressions from a show.
