@jamato8
Do you prefer Dx300 or Dx240?
I enjoy them both. The DX300 might be a little larger sound stage and with the AMP12 I modified it is really good but I also enjoy the precise sound of the DX240. They are both winners, IMO.

@JacobLTA I have a few questions about the DX 320 that I'm sure you can now answer briefly.

1. Does the DX 320 get very hot in continuous operation?

2. How many hours do the batteries last?

3. How would you describe the basic signature of the sound?

Rather bright and analytical or rather a bit warmer, more organic???

I am already looking forward to your first impressions. Thank you very much
I got a answer for my questions. But that says not really much.

Please take these with a grain of salt as I haven't spent much time with the DX320. Less than 50hrs operational time on it since we received it. Amp cards and filter settings will play a roll in subjective performance.

1. Not that I've noticed. It might get warm during charging but I haven't experienced that.
2. It has much improved battery life over my reference DAP, the DX220. Since there are two batteries, it seems to last at least 6-8 hours on a charge. I don't know the exact specs iBasso suggests.
3. It's not as analytical as other DAPs that use ESS, maybe closer to AKM but it's got its own sound. I don't like bright sounding DACs and didn't find any apparent glare. It could on the warmer side of neutral but my reference DACs are warm.

I wish @ Paul from iBasso that he would tell us such data. 6-8 hours of battery life !!! If it's only 6 hours it's damn lean. Even at 8 it would be just about acceptable. But unfortunately one learns nothing from iBasso for a product which is said to be available at the beginning of May. May is in 3 days. I find it really sad. Just as an example, yesterday afternoon I asked Shanling a question in the M7 thread. This afternoon the detailed answer was available for everyone to read. I think that's really great. and don't come back to me with covid in china. Shanling struggles with that as well. But that's just my personal opinion.

They are all too big in diameter. Only the Cornell Dubelier that NP Audio uses in the Amp 12 EXN actually fits. It's also very cheap because it's just a normal MKP capacitor. My exporting Vietnamese technician told me I should do without the MKP.
The technician that ruined your amp12 board shouldn't be believed for anything.

It looks like iBasso is still fine-tuning the DX 320's amp. They now work with custom bypass capacitors.

I believe they must have seen the amazing work at NP Audio, and come up with their solution.

Excellent move and great for us in next iteration of amp boards.
It should be more optimal, and also there was one other cap brand besides the custom ibasso and the "Cornell Dubelier" you mentioned.

This one has a bit less length.
And:
Screenshot_20220330-134005_Chrome.jpg
This one a bit longer, and not as ideal as the others.
By not choosing any of the caps mentioned, this leads me to assume ibasso was very selective in its choice cap. I expect it to be optimal size and spec.

We don't know how the new board will look inside, or how these caps will be implemented, but ibasso going thru such efforts is a big win, and I must assume will be superior to past stock amps or other "discreet" amps from competition.
It is now visually obvious Ibasso is using better parts than competition. It started with the 3Max amps. We simply don't see this type of "audiophile parts selection" elsewhere.
Large Quality parts are more solid choice than the current "fad" of "nutubes", but even with the " nutube" implementation, I trust ibasso will excrete maximum potential...

@ Expatin.Japan I don't want to be rude now. But would it be possible to test the DX 320 with IT 07??? I know that he is also one of your favorites. It would also be very interesting if the device gets very hot after a few hours. And it would also be good to know how long the player lasts. JacobiLTA's statement was not like that. Tingling if it's really only 6 hours. Thank you for your efforts. Enjoy the DX 320!! I envy them. Have fun!!

My bad notes

Short listen (people were waiting to have their turn
And fair is fair)

Not the best photos today

But meh, i dont care.
I was here to talk with people and listen to them and some gear

DX300/amp11mk2

Gentle
Body
Details
More high sound

Dx320/ amp? (New stock amp?)

Bit more soulful
Natural
Nice low end (amp,
Dac or dap?)
Dense/ has density(does not mean thick or muddy).

*Slow roll off filter

DX300 required more volume it seemed

They are different. How would they be if each was using the same amp module,
Then we could really check the dac/board
Differences etc

I for one am excited - a short listen at a show is meaningless. But i sense something interesting and i am intrigued.
Everyone has their sound that they chase and mine has changed over time, but at the moment i am desiring a certain signature and wonder if this could be it.

Of course a daps job is to be fairly neutral and let the earphones perform as tuned. But daps these days often have a certain slight coloring and this is further advanced by removable amp cards etc

Something interesting this way comes…

But yes. I like it and am excited with anticipation

Not at all

And i was using it after another guy ahead of me

I find new daps to be hot for the first few hours, caps taking form etc.(most i reviewed)
Also if someone is cranking out hi res files and wifi on and alsorts that can make a difference
Using it in hot weather, in a pocket …

So i take everything with a grain of salt until i hear all the variables

But no. No difference to the dx300 heatwise in that particular moment

That all sounds very, very positive. Also, you immediately noticed that the new amp is very good. Did iBasso provide information on the battery life at the stand where you were? Sorry for asking so many questions.
