Use amp14 line out for the best result! But regardless, the volume is digital attenuations, Ibasso doesnt lock down volume to make the player appear to have Line Out

This is a layman's question: I have an AMP14 card. I don't use the LO currently. However, if it's attenuated anyway, why have two outputs then on the card?

Amp14 Line out is different than phone out. Even if attenuatable, they serve and work completely different

I get it that they serve a different purpose, but how do they work differently? I was naively under the impression that the big difference for LO is fixed volume by bypassing any amplification circuitry. Clearly, that is incorrect.

Amplifying is analog and attenuation is digital. They are different

LO still bypassing amplifying as gains wont affect it. Of course digital attenuations will and that is completely different than amplifying

I don't get it. Not that I don't get what you're saying, but I don't get why you would want to adjust the output (attenuate) from a DAP on a line out. The only thing that would make sense is if you're feeding into a pure power amp, with no volume control, thus a need to control the output level. But are you really going to feed the output of a portable DAP into that kind of amp? How likely is that?

It is just there, whether you need it or not, and it is on most of the DAP, period. They just choose to lock it when using Line Out. I prefer having it as an option, just the same as a locked OS or Unrooted one. Ibasso is very open with OS, theh even provide IMG and Tool to unroot it.

Nothing, rooting is fun for people who has different desires such as running custom kernel, launcher...etc...but it is there as an option

Not a large enough sample size to say what is or isn't the norm. I can only say that of the three the iBasso is the only one that is variable on the line out.

Most importantly, you get more fine tune control the clock speed and control the operation of the various cores of the SOC on the DAP.

Also you can execute adb shell commands to perform more advance forms of cache clearing, optimize advanced android system parameters(like vsync/display refresh rate) to suit your application/usage intentions and also disable system wide logging to reduce internal system overheads right down to the minimum. You can also use more advance android scripts that can reduce bloat further.

Most and not all, there are some DAP that uses analog volume controls. Ibasso also have them (Dx300Max and other Maxes) and most are flagships only for the majority of DAPs. What others 2 do you have ?
