Dx320 optimizing discussions

For me getting a swissbit MicroSD improved SQ. You set the cache location to the microSD from internal memory. As far as I know I do not know of a setting in developer that will improve SQ. There are some settings that will improve performance which are in my guide for 320. I have found that just rooting and optimizing to help SQ as well as it gets rid of a bunch of not needed resource modules. Depending on your IEMs you can try high gain vs low. High for me gives music an extra punch/dynamic.
Oh I wouldn't dare throw cache onto a micro-sd. Personally. Because these cards do die and it just seems like that's allot of push and tug on the little data chip.
That being said, it probably absolutely does give more sq - absolutely agree.

I believe it's rated for over 900 TBW where consumer grade are just over 100

Thank you for teaching me about TBW.
I am sure there is some limit to internal memory as well but don't know the spec. You could get away with the a 128GB card for cache and that is under $100.

Last time I was looking at microsd cards I decided to buy a cable instead once I found one...
BUT I will ask. Is yours single bit per cell? SLC is also way more of a lifespan if I'm not wrong and it sounds the best according to the richier side of this website.

I have the 128GB card to test as it was not too expensive.
It's another way of looking at these cards, I guess, in the threads everyone was like buy SLC - that being said I can't find one that's over 64gigabytes.
Anyways, here's hoping throwing the cache there wont hurt it!!! Man I wish there was like a 512gb SLC - I'd finally be on board with buying something other than the microsd I've been using for what might be... um.. 6 years? Still being used. A standard 1tb sandisk.

All things coming to an end of this, yeah your def getting better sound by not using the internal memory - which is impossible to not use - so I'm curious what music delivery it would make a difference and be worth the risk.

You know how it goes with this hobby. To me I can hear a difference. Is it night and day no. Every little bit helps. It is enough for me not to go and buy the 340 right now. I am actually happy with what I finally have so no more money needs to be soent. In 6 months to a year there will be other options that are much better than what we have now. Ibasso has some interesting products coming out. If you are happy with what you have that is all that matters.

Tonight is the first time I've tried to use my DX320 as a source to an external headphone amp. I set the line out option. I noticed that I still have volume control in the line out mode. Should that be the case? I was expecting it to be a fixed volume. If volume control is by design, is it best to turn up the volume all the way and use the volume control on my amp (WA3)? It sounds very noisy. My A&K SE300 is much quieter as a source in line out mode. I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks.

Yes that is normal. Typically you turn up LO volume to max and then adjust volume on ext AMP. 340 out of 3.5mm is not super loud. It is better with 4.4mm. For whatever reason Ibasso lowered the Vrms of LOs on 340 vs other models.

Thanks for the info. That's what I did, but it sounds terrible. I think I'll stick with the SE300 for the headphone amp that I'm using.

You might be hearing clipping. Reduce volume on 320 LO until it sounds normal.
