The help received above was great and I’ve been listening to my collection. What a massive improvement. My first setup after my iPhone was Fiio BTR7 and Fiio FA7S IEMs. It was too messy to have the phone and the DAC. Being new to this, I’m wondering if the IEMs are good enough for the DX240? I have no point of reference, this sounds magnificent but I don’t know what’s being left on the table. It’s hard to try other IEMs as even in London there is next to nothing for sale in retail.
An excellent DAP gave you a wonderful step up in music output quality. Another good set of IEMs in a similar price range I can wholeheartedly recommend is the Xenns Tea 2. It will at least give you an improved Bass response from the DX240, while retaining the great details in the mids and highs.

I'm getting 1-2 second delay before start of the song in UAPP on Ibasso DX240. Is there fix for that? All other players work perfectly, including streaming services. It is really intimidating. Have not updated yet to the new android, I'm using the newest old android firmware.

I have the same. And what do you want from a Chinese company producing a player on the knee? They have 2010-level childhood sores of software! And they don't want to fix them! Because their products people will buy like that. I do not understand how it is possible for such a long time not to make the Software for the player?

You guys do realise it's third party software you are complaining about here, you should bring it up with uapp developer, would be more productive.

I think there's an option in UAPP itself that's supposed to help with this sort of thing - you can find it under Network settings - it's called Quickstart. It may help, it may not... This is not a problem I have with UAPP - though I don't use it much.

@Paul - iBasso Is it possible to add the file information to the DAC mode screen on the DX240 (or any iBasso player for that matter)? Fiio shows sample rate when in DAC mode which is helpful to know that the song data is bypassing the windows sound processing when coming out of a PC.

Fiio DAC mode:

I just replaced my dx200 with the dx240. My dx200 battery finally bit the dust and I did not want to try replacing it. In any case, for the last 5 years, I used Amp5 with my dx200 and really liked the sound. Unfortunately since my dx200 no longer plays, I cannot test the Amp5 against the dx240's Amp1 Mk. iii. So I have 2 questions.

1. Has anyone directly compared Amp5 to Amp1 Mk. iii on the dx240, and if so, what was the conclusion?

2. If the answer to question 1 is that Amp5 is worth considering in place of Amp1 Mk. iii, note that my dx240 did not come with any extra amp face plates, so could I remove the face plate from Amp1 Mk. iii and attach it to Amp5?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

Hi 😊
I don't know if you can do that, but you can buy a face plate for AMPs, for your DX240 it's not so expensive

Thanks for the quick reply. I have looked a bit and so far the only option I have seen for getting a new face plate in the US is to purchase the leather case that comes with 3 face plates. However, I'm not yet sure I want to spend $100 on this (which is the price I have seen).

Guys someone have used or tried amazon music hd/ulimited with ibassso dx240? Is it right that this service is unable to give bit perfect as other hifi tier services like tidal or qobuz?'Not only with ibasso dap, but also windows with usb dac. Or i don't see something.
Tried with amazon unlimited trial plan and it really isnt giving what it should and how it should and dx240 capable of.
Max i get 24 bit 48 khz' or 44,1khz or even 96 khz but all the time in ibasso taskbar above is see the same - 192 khz output. Amazon app audio quality menu tells that the track is 24bit/48 or 24/44,1/96 khz. So is it upsampling or something similar. Windows app also don't have real bit perfect exlusive mode and output to external dac. So seems like amazon hd is only try and forget nonsense. Not real audiophile service.
