The iBasso AMP8 MK2S is an improved version of its direct predecessor, the AMP8 MK2. This one embeds better quality capacitors in order to provide perfectly optimized performances. The AMP8 MK2S is a discrete amplifier module that can be installed on the iBasso DX240 digital audio player (sold separately). Its architecture uses discrete components rather than OPAs to provide high output voltage and current, while maintaining low output impedance and offering excellent measurements.

The AMP8 MK2S has a voltage variation of ±8V, improving the dynamics and the headroom for a particularly precise and musical reproduction. Bipolar transistors are used and matched to ensure excellent linearity. The transistors used in the buffer stage have an output current of 2000mA, allowing the amplifier to accompany both sensitive headphones and high impedance headphones.

Finally, the AMP8 MK2S offers a double output. Indeed, there is a balanced output on a 4.4mm jack and a single-ended output on a Jack 3.5mm, allowing it to be adapted to all listening devices.

Thanks, still some info. Wonder what capacitors they have chaged. This perhaps only ibasso knows. But i quess we will know this one way or another. They issued it silently as i heard it only here. I haven't bought mk2 as i used ex version till now but now thinking to get this version. If mk2 was wonderfull amp this version should be no worse for shure. It could be last and best modification of amp8

iBasso should be able to do the MOD for current owners @ $40 including shipping. They just changed a few capacitors / resistors from the look of it which don't cost much.

I emailed Paul to get more info if possible. I’d love to see more modules for DX240. There’s not enough “good” mid priced DAPs on the market imo, so far all I’ve found to be worthy (for me) is the M6 U and DX240.

at first glance, it looks like amp3mod with 4.4mm and 3.5mm instead of 2.5mm. similar layout and part colors lol. obviously that's just a very shallow look at it.

lol ha ha @ "whipping a horse and punching to the flesh" definitely sold as well since I love horse racing. do they mean faster transients from Bass to treble aka whipping a horse to make it run faster lol "Move like Rabbits, Quiet as Virgins" ha ha ha... I'm dead bro
