You guys are sick. I came here and I started desiring a new DAP, iBasso DX220. I put my X7ii for sale... now I want a Cayin, a A&K, a Sony and the next iBasso dual ES9038Pro...
Thinking better ... I still want the DX220... :L3000: ...
We are all sick, and we can’t wait to burn our money out the windows....just for the sake of sound performances

so I already indent this since January. because the dealer reject my DX200 order, and was suggested to wait....
Has it been 3 months passed yet ? Nowadays, I am about counting each days I wake up and able to walk the earth LOL! I have seen a few people not able to do so all of a sudden.....makes me appreciate each day as a blessing day

Ha not all of us Vince. I for one am still using my Shanling M1 but will be looking at DX220 and SP1000M at SoCal Canjam and splurging on one or the other. All things aside and similar performance and features cost will be the deciding factor. I don't jump quickly on tech, I've worked in that arena for the past 19 years and know what;s new and shiny is always just around the corner. It is interesting to myself to read everyone's healthy debate as it does provoke thought.

I did. Did not see anything other than more output power. Good for you that you did see more.

You asked for more features and updates to the analogue components. I'm guessing you don't know what those words mean.

There is no way to see any portable gear with dual es9038pro as the chip requires 60 percent mW more than es9038pro, and gets really hottt! However, 4499eq is another story. This is the latest and greatest DAC with unique 4 channels. I wish DX220 had a single es9038pro like AK SE100.

Admittedly, for me, I am not a sucker for what type of DAC-IC they are using...I am a sucker for Dual configurations, and Balanced connections. Sony with Walkman line WM, they did put up the debate about Single DAC vs Dual....after all, they are releasing Dual Chips on DMP-Z1. I can not wait to see what Sony have for this year Anniversary.

N8 is said to be using the dual DACs in SE mode. I, frankly, didn't even use the balanced output of my N8 yet, as SE it was very very satisfying for me (oh, and I don't have 4.4mm cables anymore). How is it on DX2*0? Do the dual DAC DAPs mostly use one DAC in SE mode?

But yeah, as soon as I have the DX220, N8 will be used at home only, as it becomes a hot brick in the pocket after a while.

Not sure about the Dx200 or 220. I am guessing that the Dual ES9028Pros are active at all time. The differences is the Differential stage within the Amp module itself. You will need Ibasso from @Paul - iBasso to clarify and verify
