Bro, dont forfeit your AMP4 purchase :smile_phones:

I’m not! Will compare with AMP8 first to see which I prefer. I sold my Amp4s already lol

Does Somebody know how I can use my Ibasso(with AMP 1) as an Input for my Desktop Amp?

I've tried to use the Line Out from the iBasso DX 200, but it seems Like that it's not a Fixed Line Out but a variable one instead.

To correctly drive the Amp with the iBasso Should I put the Volume of the iBasso at max?(Volume 150)?

And I don't understand why there is a Variable Line Out next to a Headphone Jack and not an Fixed Line Out.

Thanks in Advance

Here’s the replacement BL44 with a Penon 4.4mm to 2.5mm adapter and the spare piece of cable that I think was intended for the repair of the faulty one. All working nicely :smile_phones:

You need to use the USB cable come with the DX 200, connect to your desktop. Go to mango app then select DAC mode. Also you need to go Ibasso website to download the DAC driver file first and install in your computer

The iBasso DX 200 is connected via the USB Cable with my desktop PC(It's running OS X so no extra Driver needed). I'm using the Software audio player Audirvana Plus.

The connection from the PC via USB to the iBasso is not the Problem.

My question is:

If I use the Line Out(Amp 1) from the iBasso and connect it to my Project Polaris Amplifier, then I must turn the Volume from the iBasso to max(Volume 150)? Since it's only an Variable Line Out instead of an Fixed one?

Oops! Totally misreading your question haha

I’ve not used my DX200 like this but I do with my DX90, line out and full volume into my Talk Electronics amps.

Variable line out is due to the (just my guess) feature that ESS Sabres ES9028Pro has (digital attenuations). Amp-card is not volume variables. With every DAP I came across, using lineout at fixed volumes is 100% volume anyways. Also to by pass this digital attenuations, you just turn to 100%.....same differences

From the DX90 user guide:
When using line out, one should always turn the volume up to the maximum “255” to ensure that your amplifier has as much dynamic range as possible to work with.

If I turn the Volume to the max should I use Low or High Gain?( High Gain caused clipping at my settings with max Volume, with max Volume and Low Gain everything seems fine).

The rule of thumb is to max out the volume at the lowest gain possible
Why? I figured using high gain even if you don't need it might bring you some sound improvements (headroom, dynamics, etc).
