Dunu Mirai - A Collaboration between Headphones.com, Dunu and Precogvision

I received my set today. The unboxing was a very nice experience. The white accessories (case & cable) are pretty special. I've got them plugged into my Chord Mojo2 and am enjoying my first listen. More to come.
Good to hear they arrived safe and sound :sunglasses: . The case and cable were specific requests from our design team so I'm happy it turned out how we pictured it!

Excited to hear some real-world feedback from owners!

Happy listening :beerchug:

What's the material like on the cable? Is it just like the DUW02S? I really like that cable, but this custom white one looks a bit thicker than the ones I have at home.
I just received mine. I have the DUW02S on my Timsok TS-316 sitting right next to me on the desk and the cables are identical in thickness. I do think the white cable is more supple than the standard. It's really nice.

Just got mine in. Here are some quick photos I took while unboxing.

No listening impressions, yet, but the cable feels really nice.

Some very quick thoughts so far on the sound are below. As a note, I'm not the type to wax poetic about any audio products, so don't expect flowery language in my descriptions of sound.

This is a very solid IEM tuning with top-notch technicalities. It's been a few months since I listened to the U12t so maybe the U12t edges this out, but it wouldn't be by much. I would say that while a U12t is almost a clinical sound of music, the Mirai has comparable technicalities but with a hint of coloration that makes the music more enjoyable. Instrument separation is excellent.

The sub and mid bass on this set are excellent. They're not a set for massive bassheads, but most people likely wouldn't be disappointed with the level of bass on this set. Dynamics are good, though not quite on the level as something like the U12t or the Crimson.

Vocals are very pleasant and I have not noticed anything that sounds unnatural or unpleasant so far. The lower mids sound a bit on the leaner side, so deep male vocals aren't quite as gruff as some might like. The set definitely caters more to female vocals (which shouldn't be surprising given it's tuned by Precog).

There's a nice airiness up top without getting into sibilant territory. The treble is well extended but isn't really a highlight of this IEM, in my opinion. For comparison, I really enjoyed the Gaea for its treble, though that set really toed the line and many found it sibilant. Personally, I really enjoyed it but did find it fatiguing for longer listens. I don't foresee the Mirai's treble becoming fatiguing.

Overall, this is a really enjoyable set so far. Not a specialist IEM but do-everything IEM that manages to still be fun.

Oh and I know Precog mentioned size and comfort being a challenge. Although the IEM is a little bit chunky, I find it pretty comfortable. For comparison, I have had serious comfort issues with IEMs like the Monarch Mk II, Variations, Dusk, and, at times, the Diva.

I posted this to Reddit earlier this week but have since made an account here so I thought I'd do a straight copy and paste of my initial impressions here. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to listen since, so my comments here still stand.

I've got the Dunu Mirai in hand, luckily, after some ****ery by my local post office. They're a flagshippy collab with Precogvision and headphones.com is the only retailer carrying them, as far as I know. The packaging is nice and the whole setup is a very unique color way, not something I would normally go for but I dig it. How do they fit? Good enough, they're deepish and fit similar to the Gaea, so much more manageable than something like a Monarch but ergonomics are nowhere near the level of the SA6. How do they feel? Fairly light (a plus for me), not quite as hefty as Gaea's and much less than a pair of Monarchs so overall a tad less"premium" feeling in hand but not, not nice. The cable is *NOT* (thanks u/Gromu, see their comment) the same as the SA6 but similar and comes in an interesting matte white color and slightly different texture. How do they smell. Like a fresh pair of kicks. How do they sound? It's hard to say, I only have time for a handful of songs and a quick post tonight so this is very much my first impressions. Drum strikes sound snappy and while these aren't mid-bassy, they do have a satisfying sense of impact and didn't sound lean in the tracks I tested. I normally don't hone in on vocals too much unless they come across too intense, hello Gaea, but female vocals didn't sound husky or shouty and male vocals never thin, so balanced I suppose. Horns often come across too intense for me and electric guitars too biting on something more Harman-tuned but horns are nice here and electric guitars sound smooth, a little much so, possibly. The upper treble and air frequencies are less than what I'm used to with my other gear so cymbal crashes come across less shimmery than my usual but also much more correct sounding without the exaggerated decay I've come to expect on my Trio's. I didn't notice anything piercing in a track that has some particularly rough high hat strikes.

Overall they seem relaxed in the right ways for me while not sounding overly soft like the SA6. Actually, if I had to boil it down, I'd say they retain a lot of the characteristics of the SA6 and are just a straight up upgrade to the OG SA6's. We'll see how the fare over the next few weeks as I get more acquainted with the sound and play around with different eartips.

Tracks I tested with: The Package by A Perfect Circle, Caverns by Thank You Scientist, Skin by Bent Knee, Undergrowth by Caligula's Horse, Post Scriptum by Iamthemorning

Nice, I decided to get one. I enjoyed it at the Jam of Cams, so why not. Very excited, free 200 dac dragonfly and 5% coupon doesn't hurt.
What's the 5% coupon code? With the free dragonfly I think I'll order a pair

May I ask about the White cable. Is it included in the package?
Yup the White cable is the one included in the package. It was not in production when we had received our initial unit for photography and we only received units with the white cable last week when our retail units arrived.

The white cable is what's included with the Mirai. It's essentially a white Dunu DUW-02. It's a light cable that's flexible and is really good about not picking up any microphonics.
Thanks Gromu. You the real MVP.
