DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

Sep 25, 2015 at 11:12 AM Post #1,172 of 2,123
So,after posting my 2Kj's up for sale, and trying to deal with some head-fiers ,who have credit card problems.

I pulled the ad,and have begun re-testing them, with new tips.

Finally making good progress,I have put on 130 hours, and things are beginning to open up,much better sound separation, highs are higher, crispy, mids are forward, female vocals come through extremely well, bass seems to be slightly reduced in comparison to the Titan's,but still definitely there.

Although,I am not an expert on sound quality, and IEM's,I would recommend, anyone thinking of getting theses, just do it,they are a great earphone.
Just be prepared to put in 100-150 hours of break-in,and choose your tips ,carefully.

Thanks to all ,who gave me a helping hand..you guys are the best!!

Son, Balanced Armarture drivers (1 for mids and 1 for highs) don't change that much, if at all. It's you getting used to the sound sig.

That's a lot more likely, there's hella spacers, tips, and other stuff that can all have an effect.

I for one am loving the dn-2kj straight out of the box, and that's coming from the Fx-1100.

Just had to make a few minor Eq changes. Brought up 10-20khz by 1-2.5dB and 20-60hz by 1.5db-0.5db.

Only 3 complaints:

1) Wide Nozzle, I have such small ears, and the stock comply tips are med size, I can hardly fit them in. :(

2) Such low impedance, when used with my V-moda Vamp verza, the noise floor is much louder than with the Fx1100 or the T-Peos H-300. Not sure if that's going to effect SQ since there's essentially always a buzz going on in the background.

3) Non removal cable. Every time the cable gets caught on something, I'm going to die a little inside.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy so far.

You've only had them,what?--3 hours?
I'd give them,3 weeks,minumum.

I see you have a tremendous aamount of gear--just concentrate on the 2Kj's ,for now, vary the genre of music you play, and search out a tip, that fits easily
Just my .02 cents.
I contacted Brooko?,he said, the filters ,do not ,make that much of a difference, and, honestly,I know,if I sttart playing around with those GD filters ,I'm going to loose them,or,my cat, wwill jump up on the table, and eat-em..so,they are back in the box

Good luck with the 2Kj's,and use them in good health
The only other bitchin ,I have is-they are PRICEY
If your happy now, you'll be in Heaven in 3-4 weeks

Well, you can be sure of one thing; it's not going to leave you indifferent!

i believe it. even though i love bass the ie80's were too veiled and cloudy. looking for in ears that can approach at least the sound signature of my HD600's. good bass but quality vs quantity and excellent detail and speed. only worry is the soundstage. we shall see!
