Just got a mail from massdrop featuring this :

A DUNU DN-2000J/AKG K3003 comparison would be highly interesting!
I can confirm for you the mid-range on 2000J is more vivid than the original, quite a bit more. It contains more bite and detail, the resolution sounds higher and its slightly brighter. Most importantly that veil or subdued sound is now lifted. I don't know who's been reading though this was definitely changed. To some extent its almost opposite of DN-2000 mid-range. but still manages to retain a 'touch' of smoothness which is quite nice. Quite an amount of soundstage width going on here and I'm using DX90. That's all for now, I don't want to get too expressive atm.
.
Came here to read about the DN-2000j and ended up ordering the FLC8. Thanks for pointing it out.

So is that frequency response bad? Good? Does it match up with the review Brooko gave?
Your thoughts on the frequency response? I'm about ready to pull the trigger.
You are thinking to upgrade from ie800 to dn-2000j?
I think that you will be sidegrading. Not a bad thing, if you are searching for a different signature though.
You stalkin' me brah? Haha. Yes, it will be an upgrade to me for different reasons, mainly the sound, plus saving a bit of money selling mine around $415 to $450.
Technically it is more of a sidegrade, but I prefer the balanced sound.
I remembered you from other threads.![]()
IF you like more neutral bass sounds, you might fiind yourself a good IEM in this one.
Saving money, I think that you should reconsider. Ie800 sold at 415 and buy dunu dn-2000j at 350$. You save 65$. But if you get a sound that you like better, this is what matters the most!
Not really sure why you'd buy the FLC8 after reading his comparison to the original DN-2000 on theheadphonelist, when they were pretty much even, with one or the other taking the edge depending on what you thought.
I might jump on the Massdrop for the DN-2000j still. Who knows. But I'm not really looking for a U shaped FR. And it seems that the DN-2000 was brighter than the FLC8 from the comparison. That, the fact that you can tune every aspect of the sound, and I have small ears which he stated the DN-2000 might not work for.
NP, yeah, its funny that joker mentioned excess bass and treble, clearly U shaped, but the FR graph in the latest DN-2000j review clearly shows otherwise. Is this a completely different version of the DN-2000 or same but more refined?
