  My DN-1000 sounds great with anything; iPod classic, Clip+, DX50, C3, Aune T1, and even straight out of my MacBook

It's OK, I can't update the firmware as it crashes both my windows PC and laptop, but someone has kindly offered to help me now, the always-kind-and-legendary Luke has offered to help
 
Because of the firmware issue I don't use it as often anymore these days, especially since I bought Clip+, but yeah if the firmware is updated, I'll give it another go, it is a nice sounding player, but on my firmware (can't remember version), the touch and button response is slow

How do you compares the dx50 to colorfly? which Sound you like more with the dunu dn1000 dx50 or c3?

I prefer C3 in general, as C3 adds that warmth, whereas DX50 is rather bright (I prefer warmer-type of sound), but DX50 feels more solid, and better interface (though slow response time with the current firmware) - if C3 has a bigger display with album art display etc, then it will be no brainer.
 
In relation to DN-1000, unamped, I personally prefer it with Clip+

i am a big fan of the gr02 bass edition (my preferred sound signature).
 
i heard this had a similar sound signature (even moreso than the gr07 be) and was thinking of upgrading to this. but the guy a few pages back who said there was barely any difference has kind of turned me off

I have both the be and the DN1000.  the Dunu definitely has more bass.
