My Dm-480 arrived from Aliexpress but there is something wrong with the sound. The lower bass is totally missing, with a quick test on audiocheck I can't hear anything until after 60hz, compared to 20 or 30hz for other earphones. Midbass also seems very recessed. There is a very strong vacuum effect when wearing the earphones that I suspected might be related, but there is no improvement in the sound even when using foam tips.

I have a pair of DM-480's. Which test on audiocheck? I'll see if mine do or or not.

Do you have foam tips to try? Depending on the ear canal of the listener, because the DM-480 is not vented in a classical manner, it sometimes imparts too tight a (negative pressure) seal in the ear canal, resulting in a really strange sound. Foam tips usually don't have this problem, because they expand into place. If using foam tips doesn't help solve the issue, please contact us.

I tried the "Low Frequency Response" test and compared with my Jade Audio EA3's.
I thought the Dunu wasn't capturing anything until 40 whereas the EA3 went down to 20, but then I remembered the Dunu's require more volume than all of my other earphones.
Once I turned them up they captured the same level as the EA3's.

I actually like the suction effect, because I'm a bit OCD about my earphones staying snug.
I'm using silicone tips.

Yeah, as I mentioned I tried foam and it didn't help.
Now the store wants me to ship them back overseas. I don't think I have a safe way to send mail here right now. The pandemic is out of control here in California and I don't want to risk traveling to the post office. Plus, last time I returned a package from aliexpress it was never received after more than a year. USPS is much worse now so I doubt that would even work...

It is an inconvenient time indeed. Can you open a support ticket with us? We'll see what we can do to try to make this process easier.
