What's with the ridiculous -Fi threads.

Does anyone even remember what -FI stands for any more?

A reminder:

fidelity - 6 results
fi⋅del⋅i⋅ty [fi-del-i-tee, fahy-]
–noun, plural -ties. 1.strict observance of promises, duties, etc.: a servant's fidelity.
2.loyalty: fidelity to one's country.
3.conjugal faithfulness.
4.adherence to fact or detail.
5.accuracy; exactness: The speech was transcribed with great fidelity.
6.Audio, Video. the degree of accuracy with which sound or images are recorded or reproduced.

Honestly, come on, use some creative thinking..

on page one of this forum.. Pet-FI, Fishy-FI, Tropical Fruit-FI, College Acceptance-FI and Language-FI.

How original.

Flame away. Rant Over.

I think about this every time I see a -Fi thread, but I don't ever look down on them because I know it's all in good fun and it's a nice tradition for those types of threads.

Don't you mean Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum-Fi?

Actually, I've got to side with the OP on this one. The Fi thing does get a bit old, but I suppose we encourage it with Gear-Fi forum, so its all in good fun-fi.

I kind of like all the "-Fi" stuff. It's kind of like Hoo-rah or Hua in the Army. It's "yes"; "no"; "understood"; "concur" or even "F off" all rolled into one.

I think every subject line should end with a -Fi. "What should I have for dinner-Fi" or "What's there to see in Seattle-Fi?" or "What's the best way of gettin' rid of zits-Fi?"

But then...

I started a few threads using the infamous "-Fi" and in hindsight, it was very, very corny. Won't do it again.

So, they're cool if used creatively but when added just for the sake of adding a "-Fi", like I did, seems a bit silly.

Yes, which is why we have the ignore list, alas there's no way to filter out threads. It's just a bit depressing to see the suffix used so insdicrminitely

I mean come on, tropical fruit fidelity ??

Kids today eh? Wouldn't have happened in my day. Somewhere an English teacher is crying into his warm pint of scruttocks old dirigible.

Buy more audio equipment if its not entertaining you enough to keep your mind off of silly trivial things like whatever-fi.
Its all in good fun and not worth upsetting yourself over the bull$$$$-fi .

Oh, and Language-Fi works. Fidelity to the language. Sounds ok to me.
