This is interesting. Zombie I Added some bass to my 990s By Taking the Extra felt outa my 701s/Which add a nicer sound stage to the 701s. and Put it ON the White felt already in there and took off the black felt that covers the paper Cloth over the Front of the beyer Driver and put that behind the driver too. adds more kick. let me try to get pics.

While the OP idea doesn't seem so bad, the mod itself seems very impractical. It would require owning two headphones and losing one to combine into a single headphone. For that much money I would much rather buy a headphone that has the sound I want.

The electrical tape method seems much more practical but probably doesn't yield as good results I'm guessing?

Yo do not need to own two headphones to do the mod. You can buy the DT770 housing direct from beyer for $20 each.

How would you get them to fit? I have a pair of these pads laying around and you will have to make some sort of adapter for them...

The electrical tape version yield great results, but you need to use some cotton balls over the tape so you don't get sound reflections.
